Because our passing offense is 1-2 WR centric and our QB play has been a step above miserable the last 2 season, been paying any attention?

Trey Quinn Transferring

:he's right, you know:
No, he isnt. Quinn is the nations all time leader in high school receiving yards. He is the state all time leader in receptions and yards. Yall are acting like he was a decent player hyped due to being white. He was a freak in high school

Yes, he was awesome in high school.

But, no. The rant would not be lamenting to this extent the transfer of a black guy with 22 catches and less than 250 yards in 2 years, regardless of how much of a G he was in high school. Will he be successful somewhere else? Maybe. But it's not the slam dunk you or others are implying.

Greg Ward Jr. will be the QB next year....are both Trey Quinn AND Kyle Allen redshirting?

They have to sit out a year, neither is graduating.

Ward will be a senior this year and they have a senior starter at WR as well. Allen and Quinn will be stepping into starting job immediately once eligible.

I appreciate the hard work he put in and wish him nothing but the best.

If he indeed winds up in Houston that is a great situation, it's close to home, and probable immediate playing time under a high powered offense.

PS. Hope he helps to fricking destroys OU in the opener at NRG

For some reason I can see him in Ruston. Just my opinion, based absolutely on nothing.

They will likely redshirt in the year off. Can't they do that? Neither have burned their redshirts, and it would give them an extra year if they needed.

Yes both will be juniors in 2017 once eligible to play. both will start too. The next guy up behind the senior WR starting this year at Houston is a Louisiana native that Quinn is absolutely better than.

I would bet a lot of money if LSU was more spread, Trey Quinn would have had 500 yards in year 1 , and 700-900 yards last year. Alas, they are not, and they never will be under Les Miles. Who knows why they're even thinking about hiring an OC if Cam leaves. I see no point.

I don't know what that Doc guy was trying to say, but actually, I believe Quinn was playing out of position, especially in this offense. We really should have our taller receivers playing in the slot because our QB has accuracy issues. I think Quinn would have been better on the outside because of his route running and how polished he actually was. His issue as noted here was he couldn't get off the block as a freshman, but all our receivers had that issue. They also had Jennings throwing to them. He only saw 1 receiver. As mentioned here, we are easily defended by our personnel. He was not a TE, but he was used exclusively as a blocker. I really don't blame him for leaving. He was probably promised a lot to come here, and saw through the bullshite with Cam staying.

Donald Gage is a receiver at Houston. He and Quinn could team up. Bet he'd like to have him there

They are both usually desired in one package though.

Which is what I am pointing out. He lacks the total athletic package that others in the system have and that is required to play in our shitty passing offense.

People don't want to admit that though, IMO, because he is white.

You can't blame the kid. He has to think about his future. He worked hard while he was here, and no one wants to see skills get wasted. We will still have plenty of talent to put out on the field, and a TE will almost always be on the field for us. I wish him luck, and will pull for him.

I'd go to bet good money he tears it up wherever he goes, assuming they can throw the forward pass with any consistency.

Me too. Kid has skills. Too bad he played on a team with a sub-par QB and a coach who thinks a forward pass is an illegal play. Why any WR worth a damn would come play for Les Miles is beyond me. I have no faith that Harris will improve or that the play calling will change, so he probably made a good decision.

Best of luck Trey!

First of all TQ was the most complete reciever we had. Could go inside or outside, block, routes.... you name it he could do it. The tall guys had more reach in the jump balls yes. But TQ was most versatile. Ask Adam Henry.
Second, he gets a bum rap from CC. Quote by 2 former coaches. Sorry not giving source. AH lures TQ to LSU telling he can beat the sterotypical reciever of SEC west. He doesnt get that ultimate chance like others have. However, he passed the proving ground that he can play. Fact is.... you are laughable, and ridiculed in SECwest if you bring in a white skill player. Thats one reason Miss state doesnt even try.
