I am happy for him so that he can have the opportunity to play somewhere else.

I am happy for myself because I will no longer have to look at a new Trey Quinn thread everyday on The Rant.

I remember odell having issues with drops
That was overplayed anyway. He dropped one, then it became a Rant thing. So, whenever he was even close to a ball, the Rant called it a drop even if it was a legit incompletion.

He dropped 2, not a few. One was a flat out drop, and one would have been a fantastic catch on a bad pass had he made it. I challenge you to prove me wrong. If you do I'll gladly say I was wrong.
Water under the bridge, fellas. He gone!

My only wish is that he would have participated in Spring training to see if he could earn his way on the field first

If Quinn would have made a position switch to tight end he may have had a better chance of getting on the field. We like to use a lot of tight ends and fullbacks in our offensive sets.

Quinn will be a 1000 yard receiver at Houston, going to suck to see him tear it up there but his patience ran out here, cant particularly blame him.

OBJ for sure and his drops continued even into his junior year. I remember the first half of Landry's soph season he dropped a ton of balls. Then the light went off and he never missed anything thrown even close to him after that. Quinn will kill it at Houston next two years and hopefully get drafted.

For what ever reason it just did not work out for him here.

I like Quinn and think he'll do very well at his next stop. There's no "what ever reason - here they are, crystal clear:

- Below average QB play and poor passing attack overall
- Extreme competition at WR
- His drops against Bama are hard for a coach to forget

I knew that was going to be the first comment but I can see him being a great receiver for Brady one day

Not sure if serious

Lets slow the roll here guys. He is transferring out of LSU. Yes our passing game is terrible but he didn't see the ball thrown his way for a reason. There is a reason Dupre and Dural got the majority of the balls thrown their way. Our WR core is ridiculously good regardless of how bad our passing game is.

No it wasn't.

OBJ struggled with drops at times. Def had more than 1. He would go through stretches where he would drop some, and then would catch everything in sight. So that tells me it was a concentration issue and not a hands issue and easily fixable. But he still def had some drops early on at LSU

WR talent there isn't close to what it is here and Quinn is very talented. We have just been a simpleton 1-2 WR offense for a while that rarely gets a 3rd guy involved.

Plus, Tom Herman coaching him, Kyle Allen throwing to him (for 2 years).

Houston would be sick too

Because we run a simple passing offense that only ever gets 1 or 2 guys involved. We havent spread the ball out ther ein years. Last 5 season Kadron Boone has the most catches of any 3rd WR with 26, next one down is under 20.
