Just rewatched it. He 1000% fumbled the ball and it wasn’t close.

Only thing that saved us is the ref had a distorted view with all the players being in the way. We caught a major break on that one and I’d be pissed if I was an A&M fan

Definitely fumbled but ref said play was dead from forward progress prior to the fumble. I think that was a bad call and we caught a lucky break.

He just needed to go down. I know he’s fighting for yards but it felt like he was scrambling around on that return for 60 seconds. Nothing good ever happens when you’re flailing around bodies like that. And look how he was carrying the ball.

Yeah, I thought that was all she wrote when their players started celebrating and pointing.

I don't know WTF Palmer was thinking on punt returns last night (or for the entire season really). It was a strip.

Held up with the stop and one guy snatches the ball after the fact.

Did ref blow whistle
If he did that makes it not reviewable

I haven’t looked back at it but I thought I heard a whistle watching it live.

I heard the whistle before the fumble. The whistle was based on forward progress. They don’t “play to the whistle” like everyone thinks. There is a delay between when the ref thinks the play ends and when the whistle blows

He was being held up from the back while another aTm player tried (and succeeded) to strip the ball. The ref correctly called his forward progress. You can hear him blow the whistle right before the ball gets taken. If he waits any longer to blow it, it gets ruled a turnover.
