My son is the oblivious type ... good student, no trouble ever ... I do hear about some "girl drama" time to time but when I ask him he knows nothing ... I think it's kind of nice to be oblivious ... wish I was a little more like him!

Oh those little girls have some drama thats for sure but overall not too bad.

Do you attend the football games? Are you excited about the choice?

My oldest son was involved with the team until he graduated and we went more then. Last year I think I went to 1 or 2 games (he had graduated) but husband and kids went to more than me.

Yes, I'm excited ... my husband said that maybe he'd draw more athletes to the school but I hope that this isn't taken ugly ... I don't want people there who don't want to be there. I want them there for the same reasons that I send my kid and not to play sports and then cause trouble.

My son played basketball ... every kid that transfered there to play ball was expelled or just asked to leave so that their record wouldn't look bad.

And I'm sure I have some Trev Faulk LSU things that I would love to have autographed!

Yeah, I'm excited ... hopefully it all works out!

I hope Faulk knows how to coach basketball. Hate to see another Lafayette high all American linebacker fired over it. He's got one advantage. He probably made it known he doesn't want the VC house. Good luck Trev, a little advice for you! Learn the boosters names. Make them feel important and thank them!

Seinfeld, the principal lives in the house so that's not a problem.

And you're right ... pitiful as it is. Hopefully he won't play favorites ... some of these parents can be ridiculous.

And the basketball team is doing better than fair this year ... if he knows basketball too I'm sure they'd be happy!

Thats good. I knew Figaro while working with the San Deigo chargers. He even introduced me to my wife. He had a raw deal at VC. Built a program and was blindsided over a house. Being in Lafayette now, I know VC is a sleeping giant. Hopefully the church and parents are behind him. So the giant can wake up!

woah ... I don't keep up with all of the LHSAA things ... does that include basketball too or is each sport allowed to be different? To me I read something about that but I don't know much about it all.

I just know that VC & Delcambre games are U G L Y ... always.

Can you say here what happened? And what year did you graduate?

My kids were still in elementary school then .. wasn't Figaro followed by Cryer? THAT was a fiasco at the end. Then it was Topham ... then Beverlin. And there was one other ... perhaps between Cryer and Topham. C'est la vie. The coaching carousel ... Here's to hoping that Trev can pull it together!

Don't worry tiger91, I can assure you, anyone who doesn't really want to be there, will never play for Trev Faulk. This guy is the real deal....he doesn't just talk the talk, he walks the walk. In addition to having a fantastic footbal mind, he's a perfect role model and is man of very strong faith. Earlier I posted a few of his accomplishments, the knowledge of which is easily obtainable for the public. Here's a few tidbits about Trev Faulk that aren't widely known to the public, but reveal what type of person is Trev: He was an honor student in high school and the student body vice-president; he came from very humble beginnings, and the primary reason he left LSU early, after graduating in 3 years, was so that he could help out his family; once he made it in the NFL, he remained living in an apartment so that he could buy his mother, instead of himself, a home; among many of the contributions he makes to his local community, every summer he and his first cousin, former Tiger great Kevin Faulk, put on football camp, free of charge to all of its participants, which is one of the only free youth sports camps in the Acadiana area. And, that's just a short list, among many other things, which make easily apparent how truly remarkable a person is Trev Faulk. VC is very fortunate to get Trev Faulk, although, being so humble, he'll tell you that being embraced by the VC community makes him the luckiest guy in the world.

I graduated from St augustine in San Diego. My wife is a grad of STM. When I moved to S louisiana he was our friend along with few other coaches on staff. The situation wasn't pretty. As I said, a free house and a high caliber team the next year had a certain coach go behind his back and get him out. Unless u believe a school fires the football coach cause he doesn't coach basketball.

I'm in favor of Faulk at VC. I'm not a supporter with my nephew at STM. But I wish him luck.

did that coach end up being a head coach?

And Doc, thanks ... I hope that he loves it and stays a while ... my oldest son had 3 different head basketball coaches in 4 years ... that sucked. I don't blame any of them for leaving (well 2 of them anyway) but it makes it hard for a kid who has to adjust to so many different styles. And believe me, they were VERY varied!

Yes, he did. Then u know what happen after that. His "friends" that got him promoted had pies in there face. Trusted wrong person. I have friends at mc now and hear future is bright. Just hope STM doesn't steal them lol.

Trev has been working with our kids for about a year in a role with a conditioning expert. Nice guy, not sure he's cut out for coaching.
