no matter who the home opener is, it NEVER sucks as it is the home opener.
can't have it for season opener either, for the same reason, plus the game it is.
weekend of the 17th wouldn't be bad b/c we've already played that week but still, have to miss the other games.

does 4 years qualify you for the post-playing days packages from the NFL?

Faulk is the only Tiger to be voted as Team Captain in his 2nd and 3rd seasons on campus.
Faulk had a plan and stuck to it.
He pounded the books and graduated from LSU in only three years and then he went pro.
He earned his degree in three years and left after three years.
IMO, he will make a Great coach.
He is focused, a natural leader, and a lot smarter than many in the LSU community give him credit for.
Ask any of the guys who played with him. He earned their respect.

Classic example of why you don't leave school early. He could be in the NFL now if he hadn't left early. Good luck to him in whatever he wants to be.

Isn't it like 4 years on the active roster and 6 if you are on the practice squad? They have to be consecutive I believe too.

Why would leaving early impact his ability to be in the league 6 years later?

Wow ... I didn't know that. I just assumed (yeah I know) that he left after 3 and graduated at some point after that.

No, got it 4 years later.

Here's some of his honors:
1st Team All-SEC ('00 and '01)
2nd Team All-American ('01)
LA Defensive Player of the Year ('00 and '01)
Butkus Award Semi-finalist ('01)
* only player in the history of LSU football to carry the honor of permanent Team Captain as a true sophomore.
* graduated with a degree in Business Administration in 3 years.
* despite going undrafted, played 5 seasons in the NFL (2002 - 2006), primarily for the Cardinals and Rams.
Good luck to him and the rest VC's football team.

Hello ma'am...how have y'all been? That's certainly big news for vc. I'm teaching/coaching down the road at nv. Wish I could have gotten on at vc but it never worked. I would especially love it now to get to work with trev faulk

We're good ... oldest is transferring to LSU in the fall ... 2nd will be in 8th grade and 3rd will be in 5th next year.
I think I'm going to see what we have with Trev on it LSU wise and eventually getting around to work up the nerve to get him to sign it! I'm a groupie ... what can I say?!
Good luck with nv ... and isn't there an upcoming wedding???
Posted on 1/31/11 at 7:59 pm to tiger91
Ha...yes there is. The Saturday before the bama game, during the bye week. Just have to hope for no hurricanes. I wanted it to not be during football season at all but we didn't want to wait till spring. So the bye week was next best.

As a VCHS alum, this is very exciting.
I may make a couple games next year to see his team play.

I worked for the Rams when TF was there - he was super nice and would always say what's up. He was just slow - and it was obvious from watching practice. He did gt completely yoked, though, so size was not a factor

I hope she's understanding when an anniversary is on a BIG game day ... I'm telling you, my kids have been told that I will not be at their wedding if it's on an LSU home game day ... won't happen.
They're 18, 13 and 10 ... the older 2 are boys and unless they're totally whipped, it won't be an issue. and the girl, we'll I'll just tell her mommy & daddy aren't paying or going if it's on gameday! SHe's got plenty of time to learn to deal with a spring/summer wedding!
lol

What year? My husband is 1988 and his brother 1990 ... I'm not from here though. Just a transplant.
