you people sure can do some bitching! The guy coached stanford to the top 10 with nothing but brook lopez, and in the tourney and the season stanford played great D. I think its a good hire, not great, but for the state the program is in right now I'll take it and root like hell for the guy to succeed

I still say he is an average hire at best and I hope he proves me wrong- I bet in 4 years we are going to be looking again

4 years sounds better than 17 years! Maybe it's a learning process for US.

I would have preferred Anthong Grant.

I figured that was the case but didn't know his history.

He has coached and lived entirely out west with no southern ties
Does this really matter to you?
No offense, but that is very strange dude.

I was watching PTI and they said it was a bad move on his part. I kind of agree...can anyone tell me why he would want to come here?

Now it is time for LSU's true basketball fan base to drown out the loud mouth coach haters who are waiting to attack our new coach and prevent him from building our recruiting program into a perennial SEC West power!
If we let the clueless sabotage our basketball program for another 4 or 5 years of continual baseless attacks on our coach, we will never reach our full potential, whatever that maybe.

I Like the hire, good solid move.
That said, this newsclip has me wondering....
"The stunning news comes as Johnson's five-year contract was set to expire next spring. Stanford Athletic Director Bob Bowlsby said repeatedly that he would give Johnson an extension after the season. But a week after the season concluded with a loss to Texas in the Sweet 16, there was no extension and no explanation for the delay from Bowlsby. Bowlsby, traveling home from the women's final four in Tampa, Fla., has been unavailabe for comment"
Just makes you wonder.....

That doesn't make me wonder. It explains why he was willing to make a move.
There was no clear support from the AD. It probably pissed him off.

Horse laughing! I could not have said it better. This is a good hire and will be proven so in the years to come.
