Using TG as a decoy in the red zone is actually a great idea. I would not put it past Kiffin to do that.

There is absolutely 0 chance Trey’Dez plays this weekend. Using him as a decoy is still putting him on the field. Can’t wear a no-contact jersey in a game. IF Lane does anything, it would be to put him on the injury port upgraded to doubtful today. Maybe make them have to prepare for him.
But he’s not actually playing until he’s 100%. Anything less and he’s more susceptibly to injury. If not re-injuring his knee, injuring something else by protecting his knee. That happens all the time. His future is too bright to risk it. And it would hurt Lane in recruiting. Just way too much risk for both Trey and LSU. Gotta think long-term.

Let him practice drills, see how the injury responds, keep it questionable till the weekend. I think a few 4th and shorts or goal line plays could be a shot to see him because he won't be running a lot. Hell, even if he's a decoy I'd let him warm up and help any way he can.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but there wasn’t any structural damage to his leg, right? Just a hard direct hit and bone bruise type injury? Or do we not know?

I guess you don't realize how many sports medicine and orthopedic surgeons post on this board. They come across as kinda clueless but they are all experts and you shouldn't question their authority
