Travinski may look scary but he has no balls. Milazzo on the other hand has a fat sack. A homerun doesn’t matter if you give up 8 extra bases every game. I’m excited for Milazzo to come back. The team looks a lot better with him behind the dish.

I don’t think I’ve seen a catcher, at this level, drop so many pitches that hit his glove

I’d rather have coach Kelly behind the plate

My problem with him is the laziness behinds the plate. Get up off your knees with runners on base. You have issues receiving the ball to begin with and being on your knees does not help. You are slow to second and you do a horrible job receiving and framing pitches. Look we all realize defense is not your speciality but don’t be lazy while doing it.

No kidding, you cannot slide to block pitches with one knee on the ground

I just don’t get the damn fast balled that hit him in the chest and get by

Well, yeah, he's seven feet wide.

The board was all about Travinski not long ago.

it seems that at least 2 pitches that he dropped were right down the middle, or at least on the plate.......and were called balls because he whiffed! really mind boggling that this is occurring with a "CATCHER"....catch the ball.

You don’t know what he’s dealing with. Maybe he has knee problems. He’s below average defensively, but we should not be blaming that on character issues.

EXACTLY!

Im not a baseball expert or even close but ive got to believe that IF he was able & or skilled enuf to do it CJJ would have made him get up off the knee & squat like 99% of catchers seem to do, right?

I mean I seriously doubt that CJJ or any of his assistant Coaches just didn’t notice it or wasnt paying attention as closely as all of the dumbasses on tRant (myself included)!

No man. That doesn’t seem to be the case. I see a lot of catches using this technique now in college. I don’t see it in the MLB. He is a big boy but in that position you can’t react to pitches in the dirt. Pitchers have to be able to trust their catcher to block and slide. His laziness causes strikes to be called balls. It’s just not a great of look for him or the coaching staff. Throw in a SS who consistently boots balls and can’t throw to first and you are talking about 2 of 3 most important defensive positions on the field. Can not win consistently playing good teams this way.

This has nothing to do with character. This is how catchers are being taught these days

I'm honestly worried that Milazzo isn't coming back.

You have to start someone. Milazzo is injured. I doubt Travinski has injury problems; I'm just saying that we should not be maligning his character the two people in this thread have. Calling him a coward is just a shitty - and frankly, cowardly - thing to do.
