Actually this is a problem for many high school teams. We’ve watched plenty over the past five years and the lack of fundamentals is appalling. So while collegiate teams should be beyond this poor of play, it think travel ball and the absence of teaching fundamentals probably has contributed to the decline of understanding the game.

But at this level, this shouldn’t be the problem. This is poor play, lack of heart, too many injuries, recruiting and coaching. We could go on and on.

Did I hurt your feelings or something in another thread?

True. My son plays club soccer, and the clubs that focus on everyone learning the fundamentals before heavy competition starts, ~U13, produce much better teams.
