I missed a lot of Floyd’s innings. I saw his first 20 or so pitches and maybe one of those was a changeup and no breaking balls. Did his whole start look like that or did he end up mixing it up some?

There was an inning where he threw 4 CBs. The first was the first pitch of the inning and it was a strike. The next one hit the backstop and the next two went over the batters head.

I’m still concerned with his utility come SEC play when he very clearly can’t rely on a second pitch

I haven’t heard anything on Coleman.

Floyd is interesting. He literally cannot throw a breaking ball. Don’t know if I’ve seen many kids at this level unable to do so.

At the very least he needs a damn good change up to go with that “heavy” fastball he’s got.

I'd like to see this lineup against Southern:

C Travinski
1B Bianco
2B Safford
SS Thompson
3B Doughty
LF Pearson
CF Stevenson
RF Gio
DH Drost

Kelly says that he can but that he doesn't need to right now because they can't hit his fastball. He made the analogy that if you can run the ball in football, why stop running?

Yeah, but that doesnt make alot of sense when you compare it to Money. He also was doing just fine witb just a fastball. But he also was throwing curve balls and changeups

I’ve heard his comments. He’s doing what any coach would do by saying that. You don’t advertise that a pitcher only has 1 pitch. It’s obvious the kid can’t throw a curveball effectively right now.

That fastball only stuff won’t work next weekend or in the SEC.

Oof. How does a kid with his ability not have a second pitch at this age? A solid second pitch could make him damn near unhittable for 2 times through the lineup.
