Not really a sexual deviant for recording sex with someone. Just poor judgement for not asking her and then showing or telling others.

I mean the definition of deviant is “departing from usual or accepted standards, especially in social or sexual behavior”

I would consider recording someone nude without their permission multiple times is not an accepted standard.

If you consider secretly recording sexual encounters, and then sharing the video with your friends, as normal, then I've got news for you: You are also a sexual deviant.

I don't think it has been reported that he shared it with others, but the rest of your point stands.

Devils advocate here. Who’s to say she wasn’t complicit in the recording and then was upset after the fact that he showed his friends.

You're just glossing over this part? That is a major component.

Where has it been reported that he showed his friends?

I think that is the assumption given the "voyeurism" part. But it hasnt been reported and may be the reason why hes back on the team.

I just reread the original article and it appears you are correct. It hasn't been reported.

What are the legalities of recording in your own home? Plenty of people have video cameras, nanny cams, etc.

There is an entire 4 page thread already discussing all of this.

I would say this is the more likely scenario for this whole thing. With the amount of bad PR the university has had with these kind of things, he would still be suspended by the school and wouldn't be on the team if there was more.

Sharing it isn’t really relevant. The law doesn’t state that you have to share it. It’s the recording them without permission that is the problem.

Video voyeurism just means he recorded sex (or nudity etc.) without her permission. It doesn’t require him to have shown the video to anyone else.

TL;DR version - don’t put them in bathrooms or bedrooms.

Glossing over because it’s likely a he said/she said. How many people men and women should be in jail then for receiving nudes?

College kids record sex all the time

i don't know about all the time, but it is more than never

what college kids do all the time is anything that they think will come off as cool, usually they end up regretting it, because it actually wasn't cool

Maybe he is a deviant and will be breaking in through some girls window and masturbating in a few years

Or, maybe he's a good kid, that did something he thought would be 'cool,' seriously regrets it and has learned a huge lesson and will never do it again

Innocent until proven guilty and we don’t know she didn’t give him permission or about the clock camera thing.

It will be very hard to prove I would assume.
