It's not the mistakes that bother me. It's the utter failure to actually do the play by play.

If he would give the score more often I woukd be okay with him. He definitely does better wuth baseball.

I listen to Gold a lot and he makes plenty of mistakes. Gold has the penchant for not telling you what just happened. He leaves you guessing even if its a score. JH may not be better than Gold, but Gold is no better than Hawthorne.

Hating Hawthorne is like in the past hating Dandy Don. You cannot possible hate them because they give so much to LSU. They are true Tiger fans and you are a monster if you hate them.

I like JH. He makes more mistakes as he gets up in age but I've been listening to him for over 20yrs so it doesn't bother me. He's been the voice of the tigers so long I think he'll be missed by a lot of older fans.
