Like my response to other threads, it doesn't make any sense to hire a new OC AFTER signing day.

Like every other thread you have said this in, you are wrong.

It's just not going to happen, and I can't believe so many of you think this is real.

His two biggest problems from last year were overthrowing/ miss judging receivers routes & his awareness in the pocket. [was the fact that our oline was inexperienced a factor? Yes. But, to say that Mett shouldn't shoulder some of the blame is plain ignorant.]

I agree

his awareness in the pocket

His pocket awareness is fine and improved over the year. He's not very mobile so he will always take sacks and have trouble avoiding pressure.

Look at the Alabama and especially Ole Miss game. His awareness was pretty freaking good there.

Dude you aren't even making a point. Did I say somewhere the Mett was perfect all year long and can't be developed anymore? No, quit making shite up.

Yes, Mett can develop more but to say he didn't develop through the season (which you did say) is fricking way above and beyond ignorant.

You aren't implying there is an inflated self worth issue on this site are you?

I haven't really been paying this whole Cam thing much attention but if you think about it, this would probably be a good career move for him right now. Being that he was fired from his last job and since everyone pretty much feels like LSU's lack of offense has been the only thing holding us back. If he comes in and we win the SEC or heaven forbid a NC. I am sure he would look like a offensive genus.

If we were going to do it, we would've done it right after our bowl game so we could recruit using our new OC
if Les spent the time leading up to signing day doing anything other than securing the great class we landed, he would have made a huge mistake.

Now that NSD is over, Miles can focus on finalizing his new OC hire.

Miles post-NSD presser now over & he answered the only coaching change question by saying he hadn't given it much thought during recruiting & focusing on the current staffers recruiting efforts. Hard for me to tell if he was deflecting the question or not. Guess we'll have to wait.

No! Let's not wait! Let's hire Cam without Miles' approval!

I think this poster is making the argument that it is extremely rare for a HC to make a change to the staff after NSD.

Is that because you weren't listening or because you don't understand that no sane executive is going to conduct sensitive personnel discussions in public?

It's the only time Miles does make changes to his staff, though.

No need to rock the boat until you've got all your recruits in. It's not like Stud is leaving permanently, most likely, but still. If Cameron would have come in 2 weeks before signing day that's 2 weeks to form relationships with all these guys.

Might as well wait.

He added Kragthrope & Chavis to the staff in late January [given the respective years]

I heard this shite all offseason after the 2009 season. Crowton was not replaced.

I am optimistic and would like to believe we are getting Cameron, but I've seen this situation play out before and I'm not getting my hopes up just to have them dashed again.

McCaughey, Henry, an Corey Raymond were all guys hired after signing day. It's not out if the ordinary for coaches to be hired after signing day.

I'm talking specifically for the head of Offense or defensive coordinator position.
