I understand both sides of this but in the end these are kids we are talking about. They played great baseball all weekend and should be applauded, whether sincere or not.

a standing ovation as a sign of appreciation of a hard fought series, and a congratulatory gesture is one thing..... high fiving and staying around as if they were the team you paid money to see, is another....

let me ask you this.... you think any LSU fans stayed around in the Super Dome when Bama beat the shite out of us on Jan. 9th? if so, i hope they never attend another LSU event.....

Clapping for an opponents victory is one thing - but a victory lap by the opposing team in your own stadium is too much.

It's called sportsmanship. A term with with you should familiarize yourself.

This is the kind of gesture that gets singled out for rebroadcast on sports reports nationwide.

You arent a real LSU fan. Anyone not throwing piss balloons might as well buy a stony brook jersey.

Well? Why don't you throw piss balloons? I mean there those who are classy and show it, if you're not classy and you mean it you might as well actually show it instead of claiming such a title.

I would rather have a mediocre team and be known for tailgating and classy fans. In football and baseball. It's nice to be liked.

Do they not have their own fans? Even if not why is this my burden to take up?

It sends a message to the nation when LSU does something like that. It doesnt go unnoticed and thats why most people seperate LSU football and baseball fans. Baseball should remain a classy sport.

This

It's not about being "too nice" to opposing teams. This was a tiny school that shocked the world by beating a baseball powerhouse in their own stadium by playing fundamental, mistake-free baseball.

They and their fans should be proud and should be treated like gold. They earned it

Only at LSU. Has anyone seen this type of odd behavior at a college baseball game elsewhere?

So, wanting LSU to win, and not giving a shite about the other team makes me a prick? I thought it made me a fan.

Yeah that shite would not happen. I think this is a poor analogy though considering Bama is a hated SEC rival.

our fans do it so they can run home and see how many people in the media proclaim how great and classy they are.

the first few times it was cool; but it got attention and it hasn't died. . It's just become forced and insincere at this point.

I agree with all of this.

Definitely don't insult them, and be a poor sport. But you don't give them a victory lap in your stadium. That's just retarded.

Difference between football and baseball. Football is incredibly heated, I dont expect LSU to applaud Bama after losing to them.

I was cheering for Fresno to knock off Sac. State in the WAC tournament after Fresno knocked Tech out. Why shouldnt I? Fresno winning made Tech look better.

No, the clapping as they dogpiled is fine. To stay in the box for an extra 30 minutes and high five them as they round the stadium like they are LSU is insane.

Hating another team just isn't "classy." Kudo's to Bama. I applaud you. I high five you. I mean - they did play an outstanding game afterall.
