Two of the six computer rankings used in the Bowl Championship Series formula rate LSU as the best team in college football.
Obviously, those hard drives and keyboards haven't watched the Tigers try to operate their offense in the closing seconds of a game.
Thank God they can't see the games. Computers are based on logic. They would blow up like the W.O.P.P.E.R. in War Games if they watched LSU and Les Miles this season.

They can call it luck...I'll call it 7-0 against a very tough schedule. North Carolina, West Virginia, Florida, are no pushovers. We win, even if it's ugly. I'm fine with that.

I love that Boise State beats a VaTech team that is #23 by 3, meanwhile LSU beats #20 by 4 and yet Boise is said to have some great win. LSU beat #24 MSU by 22, while Boise State beat unranked Oregon State by 13, yet has more impressive top wins.
Yes, Boise state clobbered their other 4 opponents have a combined record of 8-19 of which the only one with more than 2 wins is Toledo, a MAC team with 4 wins.
LSU, on the other hand, has played teams with combined records of 12-13, all with losses ONLY to BCS teams.
LSU has play 4 BCS teams with winning records to date. Boise State? 1 BCS team with a winning record and only 2 teams overall with winning records.
This shite is just pathetic.

That's what's getting on my nerves. AU gets a pass for having a terrible D, but LSU is on borrowed time because of our offense.

TCU is at it, too. Quote from TCU Coach Gary Patterson: "For us to win the conference we're going to have to beat a top 20 Air Force team, a top 10 Utah team at Utah. If anyone has a tougher schedule in their last five ballgames than that, then I want to know who they are."

I literally just signed up to that paper to laugh in the comment section about that.

Scrap the BCS, at the end of the year let Corso don the two mascot heads for who will play for the national title.

that is exactly what SPUD and Mike Detillier at WWl are saying...with friends like this who needs enemies

I love how just because THEY think we don't deserve to be ranked where we are it's a computer error. ESPN is an absolute utter COMPLETE joke when it comes to college football analysis. They get so much wrong EVERY week. frick them, seriously.

Thats another thing I've NEVER got. Auburn LIVES on the wild side every week. Just about ALL of their games have been heart attacks. They get a pass because of Cam Newton? Please, frickIN PLEASE
They still are whining saying Alabama is the best team in college football. NOBODY is right now. Seriously NOBODY is #1. This is 2007 all over again.

If we win all of our games, it won't matter.

Just fricking WIN baby!

quote:Yea, Auburn has need a last minute drive or stop to win 4 of the 5 BCS teams they have played and 3 of the teams they squeaked it out against were not ranked.
Have any of those other top teams needs last minute drives to win games like LSU did against a terrible Tennessee team and average Fla team?

Just read your comment, jcorye1. Good stuff. I love how you started it. "I'm never going to read your paper again, but..." Strong!

God damn that's one of the dumbest things I've ever read.

simply put and gigo not withstanding, the purpose of the computers is to serve as a counter balance to the inherant bias of the polls.
they don't care how a team 'looked', or how many national titles they won between 1940-1970.
the fact that OHIO STATE was ranked first in the polls prior to last week shows what a joke they are.
boise's 'rep' is largely built off a fiesta bowl game where they beat an OU team that had nothing to play for. week in and week out, that school would not survive SEC play.
some complain about the polls being skewed to offense to much, and maybe so. i've seen two boise games. they've looked good, but not in the same ball park as what i've seen from auburn, oregon and oklahoma who should be the top 3 in the nation right now (in no particular order).
when the tigers win this week, i think it will prove we need to be in that discussion.
