Can't wait for someone to explain how O's 39 scholarships negates the 600+ million.

Since 2005 we have been, but not every year

I'm tired of the 39 scholarship players excuse too, but you should try reading the article before you start making dumbass posts.

It was a valid excuse in 2022 but that went away when LSU played in Atlanta in Kelly's first year at LSU. Our ceiling looked sky high at that point but since then we've regressed quite a bit. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt at this point given we had a first year starter QB this year and a completely new defensive staff but my patience with Kelly is running thin and that's not helped by LSU having the ball at mid field with 20 seconds left of the first half, down by a TD, with a timeout left, and we just choose to go into the locker room instead of trying to score. Stuff like that really bothers me but I'm not a coach so oh well.

On to the bowl game and on to next year.

This year's team was a 10-2 team in the playoff under an average coaching staff. Unfortunately, we pay top dollar for below average results.

Get used to it.

Kelly is just lazy and expects everything to fall his way.

All the blame is on the $100 M head coach. He has been in charge for 3 full seasons and the team is SEC mediocre.
So far, BK is all talk and full of excuses. And because of Woodward, LSU is stuck with BK for at least 4-5 more years.

That’s a cumulative amount from donors since 2005, still about 35M/yr if accurate, but I’d assume that’s mostly TAF money which is separate

Does it include 3rd party money outside of the collectives like Oregon's Nike money?

NIL collective fund but we continue to lose these big time recruits? Tells me it’s not a money issue, it’s a staff issue

Aside from the article, BK has said that LSU isn't overpaying for kids. If one team is desperate for a position (Mich QB) LSU is not going to match or beat.

Because talent still requires coaching.

Wow, what a misleading title everywhere...in your title and in the linked article. Those numbers go back almost 20 years before NIL was even a thought. Second, if you read the preface, those are NOT represented as NIL numbers. They are booster contribution numbers which could mean adding seats the stadium, a new athletic complex, etc. They even mention Kelly's $1 million contribution to facilities.

This thread is a TOTAL FAILURE. The linked article is irrelevant to NIL. If you read closely, the body of the article doesn't even support their initial reference to NIL.

You started down the right track but didn't go all the way. Those are NOT NIL numbers. Those are booster contribution numbers for ANYTHING! They even give an example Brian Kelly's $1,000,000 contribution to improving athletic facilities. The OP should change the title of this thread. It is NOT what he says it is. Even the article after the very beginning doesn't reference NIL again. Booster contributions to improve the stadium or whatever is NOT NIL. This thread should be removed OR the title corrected!

It’s a 10-2 playoff team if Dellinger doesn’t get injured.

Problem is 7 out of the top 10 are sec. 7 is a good place to be though. Defiantly better than I expected.

CBK also has one of the top paid staffs....

He's not the right fit.
