21 years as their HC, never made it past the 2nd round of the NCAA tourney. Kim Mulkey had more tourney wins this year than he has had since '09/'10 season combined.

Thanks for the post- Gary Blair retired last year. Geno has won 11, he deserves more. But we did get a great bargain.

Just the number of times LSU was mentioned in the media during the semis and finals would have cost LSU more than $2.6 million.

Thing that jumped out to me was
quote:

7 Gary Blair Texas A&M $1.25 million
16 Joni Taylor Georgia $850,000

These are the #3 and #4 coaches in the SEC, behind Staley and Mulkey.
Tennessee's coach is at $800,000 and Ole Miss' is $753,000, so the UGA coach is right about in line with the other SEC coaches.
And UGA made the second rd, Tennessee and Ole Miss made the Sweet 16.

But A&M is both paying significantly higher than the rest of the conference, and still significantly less than the 2 programs that have decided to go all-in and win titles.
And for that, they went 9-20 overall, 2-14 in conference. Tied for last in conference, worst overall record.

WTF are the Aggies doing, just throwing money away? If I were the AD, there would already be a search underway. Either step all the way up and target someone elite (which is unlikely, since there aren't many of them), or go with someone else at half the salary you're paying Blair.

Once again Texas schools pay their coaches a lot and get little bang for their buck.
