We have a chance to win 11 games and finish in the Top 10! Damn strong year I'd say!

Undefeated at home.
Defense showed marked improvement over last year.
We have some really promising young guys who contributed and did very well.
I liked the RB play more this year (we avoided injuries) and I (personally) thought the O-line was improved, especially with injuries.
Best start sincde 1973.
There are many others that I have thought of during the season that I can't remember now.

4) Every game was very entertaining..(sometimes for unexpected reasons though).
I thought many of our games were almost unwatchable. Especially the home games broadcast by CBS. Sitting through all those commercial breaks was pretty annoying considering the price of a game ticket.
I realize that LSU, and the other SEC members, have to maximize their revenue from football to subsidize all the other sports. But there should be some sort of agreement on the maximum number of commercial breaks CBS can call during one half of a football game. There is nothing more frustrating than watching your defense force a turnover, and then waiting two minutes, or so, for the offense to take the field. People comment on the lower excitement and noise level in Tiger Stadium. I think the incessant commercials is one key factor. Who wants to yell and scream during an extended time out?

If LSU was to win by a blowout every single game, then I would be one happy S.O.B. I'm sure a lot of people would agree.
I'll bet you use the ladies tee, the bunnny slope and fib about your handicap.

Considering I hate Auburn more than Bama 1 and 10 do not matter to me.

I'm in a pissy mood. My comments by yours.
quote:
1) We beat Bama. (Agreed. High point of the season)
2) We finished with a better record than projected at the start of this season. (Only because we got lucky against Tennessee, Florida was worse than expected and we played a depleted NC team. We could have easily been a five loss team).
3) We beat Florida. (see #2 - we got by a mediocre Florida team)
4) Every game was very entertaining..(sometimes for unexpected reasons though). (Most games were excruciating and it is hard to be entertained when you are struggling to stay close to every team you play; including the ones you should blow out).
5) Our players regularly displayed the kind of sportsmanship and attitude that's expected here at LSU, but not always seen at other SEC schools.
(compared to Auburn, I can't disagree).
6) Les Miles runs a clean program. With all the allegations of recruiting violations at Auburn and possibly other SEC schools, LSU fans can be proud of our football program. (I'll give Les that).
7) We beat Ole Miss. (we let a poor team stay with us in Tiger Stadium for the crying out loud).
8) We're going to a big bowl, not BCS, but I'm hoping for Cotton. (I am hoping for the Cotton too against a team we have a chance of beating, like a Texas A $ M or a Nebraska. I am afraid we want none of Mich. St. or Oklahoma).
9) Our coach proved to be one of the best in the business, and I'm proud he's a Tiger. (Les Miles is not the best coach in football, John Chavis is not the best DC in the SEC West and Gary Crowton is not the best offensive coordinator in Louisiana)
10) We beat Bama.

Right on. I think this was the 3rd undefeated home season in the last 30 years or so.

Good season, not quite Damn Strong, and it's hard to think about what could have been. But overall I'm very pleased about how it's played out.

So I went to the Auburn game, and too many of their jerk fans thought they were superior to me after the game because they won.
I taught me a lesson that I had already begun to learn this year regarding #4. It's just a game. And I'm just watching. If the team wins, it doesn't make me any better than I was before. Sure, I still get a little frustrated with them from time to time, but they really are fun to watch, and hard to watch sometimes, but there's no point in my getting frustrated - I'm just watching (and cheering my guts out). It's only football. And besides, they're DAMN GOOD!

Agreed. I used to suffer for days on end after a loss. Now all my suffering goes into watching that game. After the loss I just sorta sit there speechless and in disbelief at how said loss happen. Think about it for 6 mins or so and get up and move on. Do I like losing HELL NO but I really try not to let it bring me down as much.
The nightmare is watching your team losing and watching LSU lose in the two games they have has been a nightmare. Knowing victory was so close but that the momentum just was not there and we were going to lose the game.

If I were an LSU fan I would be very happy with this seasons results. If you had a good QB you might be the team heading to Atlanta this weekend, the team is really solid all around even though a lot of guys on here like to point out the "glaring" holes. I think every team has glaring holes but its easier to point out when your OC sucks as much as he does.
LSU should be scary good next year, good luck in your bowl game.

The definition of "very entertaining" is subjective, but to each his own. I personally found only four games entertaining to watch this year: Mississippi State, Alabama, ULM, and Ole Miss.

You don't find close games exciting? What is the fun in a run away game? Do you ever go to mystery and/or suspense movies? They are no fun if you know the ending. Same for football games. I want to be on the edge of my seat until the final buzzer.
I totally agree. Overall, it was a very exciting season. The games may have been painful or tense at first, but the close wins at the end made it worth it. I just care about getting the W's, no matter how ugly they may be. The Tennessee game is a perfect example.....I don't think I have ever gone from such frustration to such jubilation in that short amount of time. And Les just adds on to the entertainment.
