Seeing Mark Richt on this list makes it worthless.

Looks to me like this list came from someone that supports the Big 12. No mention of any of their coaches.

I don't get why he's OVERRATED either. If you go to any opposing fanbase, or listen to most talking heads, Miles wins b/c of Nick Saban. Therefore, he doesn't garner much respect nationally. So, I would say overrated is a big stretch.

Anyone who thinks Spurrier doesnt have it anymore clearly does not understand SC, and doesnt understand that no one will be about to reel off 6 SEC championships like he did at UF.

In other words, it's South Carolina that sucks and not Steve Spurrier.

6 of the 10 in that list have won national titles.

That's got to be the most retarded list ever made.

How the hell can Paterno and Bowden be overrated at this point? I don't think anyone has included them on a top ten list in 5 years or more.

Overrated means that we expect you to win conference and national titles.

So how do you include guys who have played in the last 3 BCS championship games? (Tressel, Stoops)

And how do you include guys that are obviously beyond their time and are not projected to win their conference? (Spurrier, Bowden, Paterno)

Richt, I am okay with. They have won the conference but they also have been expected to at least play for the national title a couple of times the last 8 years. Kiffin, okay. Tedford, Yes. Mike Stoops, okay, kind of borderline as I don't remember him being thought of a saviour except by Arizona.
Erickson? What a frickin joke.

I would put J Tedford, K Ferentz, H Nutt, L Kiffin, R Rodriguez, B Petrino, C Weis, R Neuheisel, R Shannon, D Hawkins, D Wannstedt, G Schiano, J Leavitt, R Zook, G Chizik, and P Hill all on a list. You can throw Mike Stoops on as well for good measure.

Is any coach more stubborn about his system and way of doing things?

This sounds a lot like Saban, yet where is he? He got his arse pummelled by Utah and could not make the adjustments, beat by UAB, and ULM. He always blames the players for not executing his system. Pete Carroll always has a highly talented team yet loses to someone they shouldn't. Don't even get me started with Charlie Weis or Bob Stoops.

I like Coach Miles, but last season was a fiasco. We sure had an awful lot of talent sign with the NFL this year for a 7-5 team. And, speaking of Visorboy, South Carolina had more players drafted than anyone else in the SEC.

I’m sorry to tell buddy but you have no clue what you are talking about. It is obvious that you normal write about ice curling but since it is out of season your boss had you write a piece on something that you do not follow. Don’t worry I don’t blame you for your ignorance I blame your boss for making you go outside your element. P.S. It was pretty good that you know Spurrier was the ole ball coach though congrats.

What a great introduction! This guy is either retarded or stole this list from his 13 year old son.

But thats just it, we havent sucked. We havent been great by any means. But Gamecock fans are used to seeing maybe 1 or 2 decent seasons only to see it fall apart for after one year. SC is one of 4 SEC schools not to have had a losing season since 2005 (Spurriers 1st year, Holtz's last year was 6-6 in 2004)

And if anyone outside of Gamecock fans watched SC in detail you would see that our WRs are open all the damn time.. Spurriers plays should be working but the QBs either throw an INT or overthrow/underthrow, get sacked, or WR drops the ball. Hopefully with Garcia's 1st full spring training in 3 years completed, a new OL coach.. just maybe our offense will be steady for once.

Throughout Spurrier's tenure here either the defense has been stout but the offense could hardly move the ball.. or the offense started putting up points but the defense gave way. And the one time they both click.. the special teams gives way (see Clemson '07) I just hope sometime soon all 3 will finally be able to be on the same page.

I think Les Miles is still living in the shadow of Nick Saban. People claim that Les won the national championship with players that Saban recruited. Maybe in a couple more years, when LSU is still on the top and Alabama is not doing as well, folks will begin to believe that Les Miles is the future of LSU football. Geaux Tigers

Simmer down now. Who is this "writer" anyway? Like someone said above all it takes is to have a computer and internet connection make something like this. This guy probably has no more knowledge about CF than than any other sports message board troll.

I'm sorry to say that will never happen. As long as Saban is at Bama and Miles is at LSU, Miles will never escape the shadow of Saban thanks to Bama idiots who feel all future LSU success is due to Saban. For example; Miles is able to recruit so well only because The Great and Powerful Saban coached at LSU over 5 years ago.

So according to this retarded (aka Bama) logic, winning at LSU is very easy now because of Saban and anyone can do it.

Anyway there is no way Miles is overrated because no one considers him a good coach. So how can you be overrated when no one thinks your good? If anything, Miles is underrated.
