Meh. Need a dynamite recruiter on the offensive side aside from Frank...

What the hell is up the rant and it's fixation on recruiting coaches?

UGA fans are saying they are fine with him leaving. He was the only coach that did not get a raise this year.

Yes, because LSU has had such a lack of talent on roster, particularly on the offensive side of the ball (quarterbacks excluded)...

I don't think you know how recruiting works

He isnt the best recruiter. But he is one beck of a WR coach
Just like Cooper when he was DB coach. Didn't recruit, but LSU still pulled in top notch talent and the secondary was excellent.

Given the staff's recruiting abilities as a whole, I think all this hire requires is someone who at least carries his weight as a recruiter.

There is a shite ton more to a coach than recruiting. Damn, every now and then you got to teach a kid something.
I like this hire.
I like this hire.

He knows how to get the best out of his WRs. I'm excited to see what he does with Dupre

In all honesty, I'm excited to see what he can do with everyone. We have one of the most talented WR corps in the country right now and hopefully his help can make it easier on the QBs and we can be a force in the air and on the ground this season.

Well the WR recruits apparently love him. And everyone is saying he's a damn solid position coach. I am happy.
If Ball can coach up the WRS then that will more than draw interest for recruits. If they develop and go on to the NFL there is no greater recruiting tool. He'll be landing in BR at the right time because he's got the talent at WR to coach. If he can make these guys better and we get better play out of the QB position, we won't have to worry about recruiting.

Agreed
Getting the most out of.. Dupre + Johnson + Dural + Diarse/Quinn will result in domination.. if we can get ANY sort of consistent QB play.

And Quinn Diarse Dural Johnson Upchurch Ferguson
Will make our QBs better with more consistent WR play. Or one can hope!!

Because WR coach is a position where you should have someone who's a good recruiter and coach. It's usually where you find some of the best recruiters and it's one of the stepping stones to getting a better job like OC. He seems like a decent coach but reading Georgia fans he doesn't sound like a great recruiter at all.
We'll see how he does. Not saying it's a bad hire but I think it's a step down from Henry honestly. Only time will tell.

I didn't realize how insular UGA fans were. They are finding it so hard to believe a WR coach would leave Athens for LSU without some kind of hidden politics or Georgia pushing him out. Have they not paid attention to on the field accomplishments from the last 15 years? Do they not pay attention to recruiting to know that LSU has some of the best WR talent in the nation? Do they not watch enough of the NFL to see the caliber of WR talent LSU can put out with good coaching?
I guess UGA supporters just don't know anything about football.

Our passing statistics do not always reflect it, but LSU and the WR position have been very good to the NFL, there is no shortage of talent on our current roster, and our receivers tend to do as good or better in the pro game then they do in college due to the passing nature of NFL offenses! Dupre, Quinn, TJ and company could have gone to other pass happy programs but chose to represent the boot. If I were a receiver's coach this is a job I would most definetely want!
