Yes, if lsu is 11-1 and say Oregon is 11-1 with a dog shite schedule,. Yes absolutely another top 5 win could put us over the top for the last playoff spot. You disagree?
Now, I asked you this in the 2nd part:
quote:So, this hypothetical with 11-1 Oregon is more likely to happen this year than the reality we know we live in yearly? (which is, again, to clarify, that Florida being really good and recruiting really well is historically a bad thing for LSU's chances of winning meaningful things)
Answer the question: Do you honestly believe Florida beating Miami TODAY might mean LSU edges Miami or someone else for the last CFP spot?
And, if so, would you put that has a higher probability of happening than what we do know? Which is: Florida being strong and dominating the state of Florida in recruiting has shown to be a bad thing for LSU over the years.

Not scared of Florida but realize 11-1 is likely. So yes I'd bet that we go 11-1 and will be relying on a quality resume in December to put us in. Hell Georgia had not 1 but two losses and almost made it in last year

I think LSU gets in at 11-1 no matter what. But, the biggest threat to that would not be some OOC game between Miami and Florida. It'd be Notre Dame going undefeated or Texas looking impressive at 11-1. You know what would help the latter? Texas losing to LaTech.
My point is, you and Topwater would make much more efficient use of your worries on non-LSU games by pulling against actual CFP direct threats.

Oregon plays Auburn this year, so in your scenario here they'd have to win that game then not make the Pac12 CG so it it was down to 2 teams that did not win their division the SEC team would mostly likely go because their overall schedule is better which can still be even if Florida loses to Miami
If you have a 1 loss Pac12 Champ, i think they'd get in over a 1 loss anyone not named Alabama

The few on here who are trying to be so goddamn different do not represent the majority of people out there not on this board. Most LSU fans pull for other SEC teams when those teams are playing OOC games. I would place a 100 bet with anybody that says different. Let's go to a random spot and poll 100 people and see who they're pulling for tonight. Because, most people get your point, as do I (and agree with).
Well a lot of LSU fans were rooting for Iowa State over Oklahoma State, how did that work out? And again tell me how it would have been worse for us if Alabama had lost to Penn State and finished 10-2?

On one hand you want Texas to win so it won’t take the luster off a victory if we beat them and on the other you want Florida to lose and not wanting them to be a top 10 team when we play them brilliant logic
If we played Florida next week you would pull for who?

Why? What team did they want to face?

Florida winning does us little at this point....
Posted on 8/24/19 at 2:17 pm to IS_IT_GAMEDAY
The only time any LSU fan should pull for Florida would be vs another SEC west school.
Posted on 8/24/19 at 2:43 pm to IS_IT_GAMEDAY
I only pull for Florida versus Al Qaeda, ISIS or the Taliban

With all due respect, what the HELL are you talking about and how does that relate to what you quoted from me?

it has nothing to do with logic, if you bothered to actually read. Its not about Texas beating LT helps our SOS but if they lose that game which right now looks like the best that weekend, suddenly won't be, GameDay would definitely pass if they lost to LT. Its about perception of that game more than helping SOS but i already explained that

Miami,

That what the public roots for is not always the smart thing. Since you were claiming more fans would root for the EC team for our SOS. also a lot of those same fans would say they would root for the SEC in bowls and the playoffs even though that has zero impact on SOS
Posted on 8/24/19 at 3:09 pm to IS_IT_GAMEDAY
No, we’re not. Go gator chomp somewhere.

quote:Well how the frick else am I supposed to take it? Figuratively? Ok, so everything you say is in jest and you don't really mean it. Got it.
you just keep taking everything literally.
quote:And this was your answer:
The OP asked why we wouldn't want Florida to win since it would hurt our SOS and i answered.
quote:
How about because it doesn’t factor in anymore? At least not a mathematical formula like in the BCS. The playoff team are picked by the committee and no one will look at LSUs schedule and say it wasn’t strong enough if Florida is 8-4 or 9-3 instead of 10-2. It will be about LAU and how we play.
If you want to root for Florida over Georgia who we don’t play ok but it doesn’t really matter
What am I missing? You straight up say
quote:
How about because it doesn’t factor in anymore?
Ok, so do you mean that, or again are you just saying that in jest? You do know what the word literal means, right?
quote:Nice half assed acceptance of letting it go. And you're fricking wrong at it. So, whatever man. Tired of going back and forth with you. And if there's anything I can't stand, it's somebody who doesn't have the nuts to stand on what they say and crawfish back and forth to try to "win" a debate.
i feel an incredible sense of irony with you saying I'm making an assumption since you are about my statement which wasn't meant as a declarative fact, but as an guess to a question that was asked
Posted on 8/24/19 at 3:17 pm to IS_IT_GAMEDAY
frick off with this. We will never be gator fans.
Scrolled and saw your terrible reply. Seriously? This isn't just about football. frick UF!
