To honor of the last day of our offseason, I couldn't resist Re: #5for5

I normally am not one to dwell on players who chose to not come to LSU, but this really is a unique situation regarding the 5for5 debacle that occurred a few years back. A look at how each player is doing going into year three...

Leonard Fournette and Jamal Adams: both regarded as leaders, numerous accolades and preseason all-americans, no brushes with law, work ethic lauded by teammates and coaches, both projected first round picks.

Speedy Noil, Gerald Willis, Tony Brown: All three suspended for their respective season openers, multiple brushes with the law, work ethic questioned in all three, no draft stock to speak of.

Some will say I'm piling on these kids, and I guess I am, but it really is crazy just how well this worked out for LSU in the end.

Its called shithouse luck and Miles has more than most, we wanted all 3 of those players.

The Rant certainly did. Is it just maybe possible that the LSU staff quietly backed off?

More than most? escaping baton rouge twice against an inferior team, escaping Tenn against an inferior team, having a split title, and getting a rematch for another.

Seems like another coach in the sec has had some luck.

this is interesting for sure....although we have had players get in trouble with the law it happens to everyone but yes your observation regarding the 5for5 is intriguing

They both should be suspended and the only reason Hootie wasn't was because he was with CamRob. Moral of the story if you are a fringe player do bad stuff with a star.

CamRob never wanted to come to LSU and we backed off Hootie when we got Jamal Adams.

I think you might be missing the point here. LSU would have taken any of those three players, but they didn't want to come and LSU fans threw a fit. Point bein', even in the contest between man and steer the issue is not certain.

Lol dude if you can't see the irony in the fact that all three of those guys "trolled" LSU and now won't even be dressing to start what is supposed to be their make or break season, I don't know what to tell you.

The way those three handled it was just a sign to what was to come.

Remember this next time some recruit "leaves us hanging"
