That kid looks like a power 5 starting QB already. Sounds like he has a good head on shoulders too. Whoever loses the battle to start is probably gonna transfer and do well. After Myles is done.

So did Brandon Harris.

It takes much more than a strong arm. A strong arm is worthless without all the other intangibles being present. It remains to be seen if he has those. Time will tell, but you better be able to step on the field and do all the things that produce Championships. (Strong arm and nothing else means zip now at LSU!) The standard has been set.....

Panic your comments are a disgrace to real Tiger fans.It is very obvious what you are indicating, Finley is black so he is automatically to dumb to read defenses. Did you know his mother became a Medical DOCTOR at the age of 26, and by the way she is black.

What the crap, dude!!!???? I am SO FREAKING TIRED of this hyper-racial victimization mindset!!!! He neither said, inferred, or indicated ANYTHING CLOSE to what you are accusing him of. If anything, your comments reveal your own racism and insecurity. I don’t know what race you are, and don’t care, but it’s obvious you worry and are unsure about the same thing you are accusing him of.

. He was very inconsistent with his accuracy in high school. He would drop one in the bucket from 40 yards with tight coverage on one play and then the next sail one 5 feet over a receivers On a 20 yard crossing route the next play. How much can proper coaching improve accuracy I don’t know. It is obvious his footwork has improved a ton. I think that should help.

I couldn't have said it better.

"She's black AND a doctor! wow!"

It is truly sad to see the racist POS posters of this board.

Burrow and Brennan were neck and neck after 428 snaps each in August 2018 just two years ago!

Joe barely beat Myles out!

I hate to break it to you, but that was just coach-speak to make sure his only backup QB (after two other QB's had left) remained on the team. Burrow was the starter from the day he transferred to LSU...even if it wasn't specifically said.

He wasn't leaving OSU as a grad transfer with only two years left to play to simply just "fight for a job" elsewhere. He could have stayed at OSU and "fought for the job". Like most grand transfers, he wanted to go to a place he could play right away.

Also, if the coaching staff was so high on Brennan at that time they would not have even considered recruiting a QB who (at the time) had LESS significant game experience than Brennan.

We can tell all the happy feel good stories we want. The bottom line is actions speak louder than words. LSU wasn't confident in ANY of their QB's following the 2018 spring and when the opportunity arose (almost a month after spring ball) to get someone new who could come in and start, they pounced. The rest is history

From what I saw in the few springs reps we saw, he has a long way to go as far as an accuracy standpoint.

The best thing for Finley at this point is to be the #3 QB and be able to work on his footwork and mechanics which should greatly improve his accuracy. If he had to play early, especially missing out on practice time from Covid, he would more than likely revert back to his bad habits. This way, he has plenty of time to work on things knowing he isn't going to counted on to play

That’s a load of horse crap!
You’re essentially calling Orgeron a liar, when he’s clearly quoted telling they were graded and got to look at the scores daily to improve.

Fact is that the two transferred because neither wanted to be third string behind the Brennan Burrow loser

Brennan was that good

Go sell your nonsense to someone else!

If you’re right, and Brennan isn’t a freckle on Joe’s arse, then LSU will disappoint in 2020.

If I’m right, we’ll win the West and make a run at the SEC Crown and maybe even playoffs.

It’s on, Dog!

Dude for what it's worth i don't give a shite how you feel about my post,to say I hope he can read defenses without knowing the kid is very telling. I don't need you or him to spell out what he meant. I have been hearing and dealing with this shite for a life time. I understand perfectly well what he mean.

is this a concern due to his blackness?

I am concerned because it didn’t seem like he went past the primary receiver in high school. Maybe he is exceptional at diagnosing defenses but simply didn’t have to.

FWIW, I didn’t like us initially signing MB because he was on one of the stronger teams in Mississippi and they got blasted by a very average Brother Martin squad. I questioned his ability to go through progressions too as I viewed his opposition as pretty meh comparatively.

Both of them have the tools so time will tell.

Experience usually pays off for Tiger QBs. Matt Moack, Matt Flynn, Jeaux Bureaux were all seniors or 5th yr guys. Trevor Lawrence, Jalen Hurts were totally extradenary having the season they had as first yr starters. Bryce Young has a good chance to join Hurts & Lawrence this yr if you have seen his tape from last yr.
