Yeah, the home of the most Super bowl games, legendary fights with Muhammad Ali, Sugar Ray Leonard, Roberto Duran, where Air Jordan became a household name as a Freshman, 80% finished with a 500 million dollar facelift.

Keep the dome out of your mouth you little brat.

Would much rather be experiencing Tallahassee, swing the campus, etc.

THIS x 1000
My in laws have a place in Laguna Beach, Fl.
Nice little 2 hr drive to Doak. When I saw the home/home, I had the prefect football/beach weekend planned for Labor Day. Wanted to see the campus, Doak, etc.

Then they move it….

Yeah I get it but would Tallahassee give the school 25K tickets? It’s a combination vacation and football game for many more people to have the opportunity to attend.

If two teams play at two neutral sites close to the universities. Like today's game in Orlando and last year New Orleans. Why is this done to begin with? Is it the money from those places? I'm really curious as I really don't know?

Agreed. I went to Charlotte to watch the UNC/USC game. It was a sterile, pro stadium with zero college feel and a terrible acoustics/sound system.

Had good sight lines and no bad seats, but was a pretty blah experience.

I prefer home and home so much more. It is so cool seeing big time OOC teams come into TS as well as play at their stadium. There’s no culture in playing in Orlando and having half the tickets for each fan base. I worry the administrations worry more about paychecks and less about culture.

I think it comes down to money for big program OOC matchups . Whoever hosting at their home stadium would be getting the revenue, while the visiting team gets the shaft. They have it at a neutral site with more expensive tickets which makes everyone happy.

That’s why there are so many rent a wins at home. Writing a $500,000 check (or whatever the cost is now) to a small no name school is big business for them and a steal for us. The big ooc schools are not interested in leaving $ on the table.

It’s a decent place to live. Nola hasn’t been able to say that in decades.

Ok but where would you rather attend a football game? This isn’t about liveability

Same, I can get excited for truly neutral games in Dallas or Vegas, maybe a NYC big cities, but to play one that's relatively close to the school you're playing? Boring. Just play a home and home.

I found this one weird. Why play three hours down the road from Knoxville?

I hear you but as a person that lives in Orlando that doesn’t get to see live games anymore this is awesome

Orlando IS a dump

FIFY
A guy from New Orleans calling Orlando a dump.

Orlando is like every large city, Good areas and Bad.

From what I've seen, more Good than Bad.

I certainly wouldn't characterize it a Dump.

Traffic is bad on 1-4 though and we stick to our area over here on the Coast pretty much.........

Extra money from TV. Home games on campus would have been part of the SEC (2022) and ACC TV contract. Neutral site games can negotiate a TV contract independently.

I’m not a fan of the neutral site games in general, but it does reduce the chance of losing a game to hurricanes or having a hot AF day game

I don’t hate all neutral site games. They can be a lot of fun, if they are in the right city, a la Dallas, New Orleans, Vegas, Nashville, and a few others.

Orlando is not one of those cities. Terrible stadium, and the area has nothing to offer outside of Disney/Universal.

It's all about money lsu and Florida state are getting 5.1 million each per game and 10.2 million total

If games were on campus sites then less money:

$500k for away team each game

Also i read an article that FSU only makes like $3 million per home game

So FSU would get $500k for game at lsu
And $2,500,000 after paying lsu $500k for game at FSU so totaling $2.5 million for home and home on campus games for Florida state. FSU will make an extra $7,700,000 playing neutral sites games thank playing on campus
