When you add in Juco and Transfers, last year's class was excellent!

I don't see how anyone could get that I was ripping Coach O from what I posted. Not even the posters that twist the most to be hate should be able to twist what I posted as ripping him.

This is possibly Bama's best class ever.

Whew man. You found that cloud to cover the silver lining...

At least you're persistent.

The class as it stands right now is a very good class. It's not going to "break".

Because they've got more commitments. They'll end up dropping

No one can touch Bama. I believe they play by their own rules.

We are competing with Georgia, A$M, Florida, Auburn

I agree. He has exceeded my expectations this season and this recruiting class is looking really good but to be elite again we have to make a change on offense.

“ ripping Coach O”

We are 9-3, 5-3 and 10th in the SEC in O. We have dropped further behind Bama than we have been in the last 20 yrs. The Fla program, which has faced some very high obstacles to success in the last three years, is 2-1 vs us in the last 3 yrs. A&M hires a coach who leads them to their 1st win over us in 2 decades. These are not good signs for LSU’s hopes of being more highly competitive in the west.

I find it disconcerting that some now seem to think that LSU can no longer touch Bama either on the feild or in recruiting so we should just take them out of the mix and be happy to compete against the other SEC teams.

No, the expectation is for LSU football haven’t been changed at all. lol

The recruiting to this point looks pretty good. Let’s hope they help us to reach our main goal which should always be beating Bama and Winning the west.

I agree 100% with your expectations. Those are mine as well. But it's also clear to me that we've fallen very far behind Alabama. Actually the entire SEC other than maybe Georgia is very far behind Alabama. So, the first step for me is to get back to where we're beating everyone else. Which we almost did this year. This was the first year since 2015 where the Alabama game had any significant stakes.

We haven't recruited the lines at Alabama's level in nearly a decade. Look at this year's class. They have 3 of the top 10 offensive tackles. We have 1 in the top 20 and he didn't even sign yesterday due to grade issues. I don't think our expectations for this program will be realistic until we get back to recruiting at a similar level. 2020 looks to be a giant step in that direction.

As badly as we all wanted an overnight fix, there simply isn't one.

You can say, yeah but Georgia did it. Well, first off, they're in a weaker division. Remember, a shitty Florida team went to the SECG in back to back years. And secondly, they're doing very well recruiting the offensive line, but they're just getting most of the top recruits in their region. Our strongest recruiting areas have been down the past few years as far as offensive linemen are concerned.

You can call this an excuse, but I prefer to call it a reason. And we're on our way to getting it fixed.

11-1 next year is my realistic expectation.

Well I know I do not fell like that personally.

But there is the reality today that Bama is on a different plane these days.

It costs a lot of money to hire a coach and a lot of money to fire one. There is also regression that can come without stability in your program.

Auburn, Georgia, Tennessee, Florida, Texas A&M - all of their fan bases want to win the SEC and hate that Bama is so dominant now.

But firing coaches because they are losing to Bama is a losing game. It has not been solving the problem, some programs end up moving backward.

This is not a pro or anti Orgeron post, I didn't like him as a hire.

But I cant be mad at him because Saban out recruited him. Or I guess I can, but its not like there is any coach I could replace him with that would have out recruited Saban this year.

So I am not resigned to never beating bama. In fairness to Orgeron, and surprisingly to me, I think he did about as well this year as any coach we would have hired.

We will see next year how he does. And you are taking the A&M win over us out of context, overall Fisher didn't do any better than Orgeron and but for any number of calls could have lost to LSU.

You noticed that too. It's sad that it's just accepted these days.

“ but it’s also clear to me that we have fallen very for behind Alabama.”

That’s been happening for a while. It’s one of the reasons LSU chose to fire a pretty successful football coach almost 3 years ago. Losing to Bama and a poor O was judged not to be acceptable. And in that 3yr period we are 0-3 while being out scored 63-10 overall and 39-0 in TS with 10th best O in the SEC this yr.

There is nothing overnight going on with the frustration some LSU fans are feeling.

Saban took over at bama and LSU was the top dog...Miles let us slip and Bama become the most dominant program ever in CFB.
