Tip of the hat to Lanard

Not everybody on a team can be a star, teams need depth and need good players willing to be on the scout team.
Lanard came to LSU in the shadow of his brother, Leonard. In fact, most figure Lanard rode his brother's coattails in and is only here because of Leonard.
But Leonard left and Lanard stayed. He could have transferred, he could have quit, but he stayed.
And for reasons still not clear Lanard started one of the biggest games of the year at at A&M, and caught the first pass for nine yards. In the fourth quarter, with plays at a premium, somehow LSU decides to handoff to Lanard who goes 46 yards down the sideline leading to the go ahead touchdown.
With Emery and Price coming in, Lanard is hardly mentioned at all in any discussion of who plays running back.
Its no matter to me. The kid stuck it out and will be a fifth year senior at LSU. That's an accomplishment few can claim. Lanard represented LSU well. I would not be surprised at all if the coaching staff appreciates him and finds some role for him this year, even with all the horses in the running back stable.
I think the kid deserves a tip of the LSU hat, it cant be easy being the little brother. He has handled himself well. Respect.

from what we saw from him last year, i'm surprised he didn't get more touches. I hope there is a role for him this year.

Those players are the program builders. I hope he does but He may not get the carries he deserves but his experience will help this team.

Not everybody is going to be an All American. You need Young Men like this that are willing to work, pay their dues, and help build a program.

Not too many "stick it out" anymore, kudos to this young man.

He did ride his brothers coattail in...BUT he made the most of it. That is what’s really awesome

In looking back at his class, all I think that is left is Dillon, Magee, Lanard and Growden.
So I am good with a tip of the hat to all four. Football is a hard sport and it takes a lot of hard work and perseverance to be a fifth year senior.
Dillon is a super talented kid as shown in that great td he had against Auburn last year. The transfer portal had to be tempting for him, he could start at a lot of schools.

Thanks Lanard for being a good Tiger.

Agreed, love this guy. Always seemed to be explosive on his very limited carries. I hope that coaches can find a role for him.

He has already earned his degree from LSU, as I saw a picture of him with his brother, and Lanard was in his cap and gown. I believe he is the first in his family to achieve that distinction, too. Pretty big deal, imo.
