If you weighted those rankings it would be a bigger gap. Vandy was #1 2016-2020 and is #2 in 2021. And they are pretty far out in front. Then keep going back to 10 years.
I never said we can't recruit, I said we'll never be able to consistently recruit as well as Vanderbilt unless the rules change. That's a flat out fact. Their talent level most years is a tier above ours.

I started with 2018 for a good reason, because it's when LSU started to trend downwards.
If you want to go back further, that's fine, but you are only proving my point even more. LSU was having better success than Vandy before then, despite Vandy having players a "tier above ours" like you claim.

Vanderbilt has multiple times more money than LSU.
and they do sink it into their baseball program because it’s a sport they can be competitive in.
and the extra scholarships they can offer is HUGE advantage over what LSU can offer.

Dude I never said we suck at recruiting. I never said ALL players want Vanderbilt. You’re arguing something I’m not.

it’s how the NCAA “counts” scholarships in baseball vs football and basketball
in football and basketball, any financial aid given to a kid gets counted against the teams scholarship limit.
meaning even if a kid used TOPS to get in, that would count against the 85 in football.
baseball on the other hand doesn’t count them that way.
so any academic, legacy, minority, etc. financial aid doesn’t count against the 11.7.
the only thing that counts is actual athletic scholarships.
Vandy being private can offer all sorts of different financial aid packages and discounts.
None of which are counted against the 11.7.
They literally have a program that allows kids to pretty much pay “whatever they can afford” that is available to anyone that’s accepted to their school.
LSU being state run is very limited in what they can/can’t offer.

And the guys who get athletic scholarships that wouldn't have otherwise been accepted to Vanderbilt are eligible to switch to the Opportunity Vanderbilt scholarship after freshman year if their grades are good.
And they have college athlet3e courses and tutors like any other school so a few guys each year switch to that scholarship and free up more of the 11.7 for incoming freshmen.

i didn’t take his comment to mean he knows a specific guy yet.
just that whoever LSU hires will be a very good coach. and chances are, that guy won’t be Skip level because, well nobody is.
