Well imo, Little Rock isnt even a team equivalent to any weekday competition we've seen all year. They were 1-17 until their conference tourney. We have a near undefeated record against OOC teams. There is no reason why we cant go Anderson on Sat and Eyanson(he can go deeper into the game) in the final on Sunday. I get the same day rotation for next week. I feel like if we waste one of our aces against LR, we risk dropping one on Sunday and risk the regional on Sunday. I say go for the "regional jugular" and go 1&2 starters on Sat
& Sun. I mean if we are saying we can win the final w/o 1&2 on the bump well why cant we win it with one our aces pitching and use one of our better weekend relief or weekday starters against LR. In no formula , should LSU lose to LR. We got 5/6 other guys that can beat them. Jmo.

They 100% will stay on schedule!
Supers will start following Friday so Anderson both Fridays and Eyanson both Saturdays

If you win the first two, you only have to win one more. If you lose either of the first two, you have to win 4 total. So, first scenario, have to win one game without the two aces. Second scenario, have to win two games without the aces, with no margin of error. That’s why I think he’ll pitch the two aces first. And if it’s better to pitch a lefty against DBU, he’ll pitch AE first.

It’s honestly a tough spot as a coach, because Little Rock is terrible and ideally you wouldn’t want to use an ace on them… but on the other hand Northwestern State.

Our Super (if we have one) could start on a SATURDAY and most likely will.

but thiats why Jay used them the way he did in Hoover. Specifically to have the option to start either this Friday, depending on matchups. I dont think he would have done it if he was just planning on keeping them on schedule.

I don’t know. I think he used both aces in game one because he wanted them both to get live action that weekend, and it was single elimination. There’s hardly any difference between the two as far as effectiveness goes, and the righty/lefty factor is fairly narrow with these two because Kade’s arm slot is so high. And Eyanson has lately shown the ability to be economical, so he has a great chance of taking the dangerous two seed into the eighth inning. I’d feel a lot more comfortable knowing our closer only needs four or five outs in that game.

The great thing about our two starters is that they can be counted on to eat about seven innings, so our bullpen should be almost completely rested for the last two games. Hopefully we get a big lead in game one and can close with Schmitt, Rizy and company.

That 100% is influenced by the number of other regionals go to a Monday. So at best its 50/50.

Can/should we beat Little Rock with our midweek arm? Yes.
Is it worth risking having both of your starter on short rest in the Supers? Probably not.
Does Jay think its worth the risk? 1000% no.

If we pitch either one of them against Little Rock and end up losing our regional then we deserve to lose the regional lol. Little Rock is 24-32….
