re: Tigerbait's Bryan Lazare Said Coaches Don't Have Confidence in Lee

Les knows 1000 times more about the QB talent on the team than any poster on this board. Of course he will play the best he has
which means he has less confidence in JL. This is pretty obvious and doesn't take any inside info to figure out.

They're only allowing Lee one pass per four or five handoffs.
It may be less confidence in the fans reaction if Lee makes a mistake. Or it could just be not much confidence in Lee.
Pick one.

If they don't have confidence in Lee, then why in the hell would you put him in the game last week late in the fourth up by 4 points deep in your own territory?
it was 6 points, but still, a pick-6 (which he is known for) potentially loses the game.
and he called a pass to the flats (i swear they wre almost setting up a pick-6, or seeing if he still made the mistakes throwing that pass, which he didn't)

How does no one remember JL and the amount of pic 6's he has thrown. Obviously JJ isn't doing the job but the first half of last game there were 55 yds of penalties on 1st down throws by JJ. It still doesn't make him a good qb but still it showed a glimmer of hope in the kid. Just one game/week I would like to see the fans truley support the kid and find out if it improves his confidence and gives him some swagger. My .02

It's called idiots that have never played a sport in their life and consider fantasy football a sport. They have no life like those Bama fans they often criticize for making football the end-all be-all.
The amount of idiot fans surrounding LSU's program grows annually. Now, the small number of idiots are getting their own segments on sports shows around the nation.

Like other posters, I am wondering if they don't have confidence in Lee, why are they so gung ho on Jefferson, who appears to have taken a step back so far this season? Would it really hurt this coaching staff to at least give Lee a few series per game, unless Jefferson surprises us all and starts playing much better.

Just a thought when there was reports during spring training that Lee was doing better or at the spring game when Lee out performed JJ all that was constantly talked about was Lee's pick 6s. Also, after the spring game miles would never give out individual qb stats he would always combine them. I think this could be because he is afraid to put Lee in after the 2008 and limited play time of 2009 season. If he admits or shows that Lee has been doing better than JJ it will make him look bad that he has stuck with JJ.
I could be wrong Lee could be playing worse than JJ, but at the end of the day I want our best opportunity out there on the field. Whether it's JJ or Lee I'm pulling for both I think they both have the potential to be great at LSU.
Just give Lee a shot if it doesn't work then we need to move RS back at qb to do the running and have JJ do the passing.

Let's think ahead here:
I know many want Lee to start and/or see significant time this week. I'd like him to get 3-4 series in the second half.
BUT if Lee comes in and stinks it up, taking playing time away from JJ and making it evident we will not go with him in the future, then we are left with a struggling, unconfident JJ going in FL without playing an entire game the week before.
Damned if we play Lee, damned if we dont

Look, I love all of our tigers and I applaud Jefferson for giving it his all. He's just not producing on the field. At every other position, if someone is struggling you give somebody else a shot. Why not at QB? Jarrett Lee deserved to be pulled 2 years ago and Jefferson deserved a shot. He has had his shot for a year and a half now and what do we have? One of the worst offenses in the country. How do we know Lee hasn't improved or matured on the field in the last 2 years when we never get to see him in a game? Give him his shot and if we still have the worst offense in America, then try something different. But doing the same thing over and over for a year and a half with the same results is the definition of insanity. And it's Miles, not the players.

it's really not that hard for me to understand at all. JL was booed out of the stadium as a freshman while making mistakes that freshmen make. the natural reaction in this case is to pull for whomever the backup is, which was jefferson. now you have people booing JJ out of the stadium because he is making mistakes that are not supposed to be made by a junior that has started for almost 2 years. and now people assume that it is impossible that we have 2 qbs that could have continually gotten worse over two years, so JL must be able to do a better job than what we got on the field now. whether we will ever see if this is the case is the million dollar question.

struggling, unconfident JJ
if a year and a half of PT hasn't gotten him ready for UF, a half against Tenn surely won't. and he will be struggling and unconfident regardless if lee plays or not.

also consider crowton has been trying to insert Lee since halftime of the vandy game, so that seems like a confidence vote right there.

Vut? Zair iz und Quarterback controversy?
Seriously though, I've thought many, many times that our backups must suck hard. The alternative, which is also highly Bavarian-like, is that Miles is a stubborn SOB.
