IMO i think it boils down to if they replace JJ can he recover from it. JJ has been brought along slowly and it shows. He has a hard time reading defense's that are been showed to him. I dont know if JL is the answer but they need to figure this out now or its a true freshman taking this job next year and i really dont want to sit thru that.

Everyone is waiting on Les. Let's put it that way.

It's hilarious to me that everyone forgets J.Lee's performance the past two years because he has completed 2 passes this year in mop-up duty.

It may be less confidence in the fans reaction if Lee makes a mistake. Or it could just be not much confidence in Lee.

Pick one.

Miles should play Lee and Peterson at the same time but should only allow Lee to throw passes to Patrick Peterson:

1. Gets Peterson in the game on offense

2. Makes Miles look good for playing both of them

3. If the throw sucks Peterson can turn into a DB and pretend he's making the interception - which then is actually a completion!

4. Worst case the ball is picked off and Peterson makes the tackle - no more pick 6's. Defens makes the stop and we get the ball back!

Brilliant!

Les knows 1000 times more about the QB talent on the team than any poster on this board. Of course he will play the best he has
which means he has less confidence in JL. This is pretty obvious and doesn't take any inside info to figure out.

Quit posting rational thoughts damnit! The starting QB sucks and the backup is awesome, regardless of who is in each role.

W

hat's hilarious is thinking someone's performance as a freshman is indicative of how they'll play as a junior.

And what's even funnier is that you consider the end of the WVU game as mop up.

You fail twice.

Not quite:

1. Check his stats from the 2 games he had multiple Pass Attempts last year

2. Ok, not mop up, but not considerable playing time...1 pass.

eta: I'm not anti-Lee, by any means. I just think it's funny that everyone acts like putting him in will automatically solve all our problems.

So now we're comparing BCS Champ Alabama to what we've faced this year?

I'll concede JL had a bad game v La Tech, but going back to two years ago, he at least moved the ball.. even with giving processions away.

It's worth a shot, the offense can only drop 7 more spots in the rankings

If the premise is correct , that the coaches have so little confidence in JL that it really doesn't amtter how poorly JJ performs, then that tells me our coaches knew at least two and a half years ago we had a crisis at the QB positon that needed immediate attention thru recruiting Juco transfer or otherwise. In that same period Ole MIss twice responded with transfers, for example.
Don't boo JJ or JL. They are doing the best they can. Boo the coaches who refuse to respond to a crisis even the casual observer can see.

Now compare them to JJ's stats from this year. JJ's aren't any better.

I tend to agree.

Did he even claim sources, or is he just jumping to this logical conclusion?

Apparantly JJ lights it up in practice and the coaches are just waiting for it to transfer over to the game.. if he were having shitty practices day in and day out the move would have already been made

+1; BZ to Les Miles for taking the heat instead of throwing Lee under the bus.

If they don't have confidence in Lee, then why in the hell would you put him in the game last week late in the fourth up by 4 points deep in your own territory?

He came in with LSU up six and the ball at the LSU 42. That is not deep in your own territory.

I think les has played it right. he wants to win game not score a lot of points. some of you rantards can't understand that we are 4-0. jl gives you more offense but is too risky. look at mallet this past weekend or the A&M qb last night. you can score more points and gain more yards BUT YOU WILL LOSE IF YOU HAVE UNTIMELY INTS.

if Les has no confidence in Lee, he should've been honest with the kid and told him he had no shot at playing QB so the kid could transfer and go somewhere he'd have a shot with new coaches.

Assuming this is true, it makes Les look like an even bigger POS for how he's treating Lee.
