Dr Maggio is amazing. A true southern gentleman. He has been everything from the track coach to the Admissions Director to the President.
He is the absolute perfect fit to run NSU. I don’t care if he got his Doctorate from Grambling or University of Phoenix or wherever. He is amazing and inspires everyone within the Demon community to strive for new heights.
It’s nice to see so much good comments for him and Natty here on this board.
NSU is not for everyone but it is a great place to go to college. I enjoyed my time there immensely.

I know his mom pretty well.
He was committed to the Aggies but after his father died he committed to LSU to be closer to home/her.
LSU processed him a couple of weeks ago so now he is going elsewhere.
It sucks because he is going to be a good one.
I hope folks on here don’t bash him because he is a good kid and would absolutely stay in state if LSU hadn’t pulled his offer.

He was good friends with my dad for years. My dad and I’s first trip to Omaha in 2009 we set up and helped him cook one day. From 7am omelets to 10pm he never left the tent and cooked around the clock. Funny thing was was that an entire of crew of people had been doing it with him for years and they must have had 25 men set up cooking different things. Random folks would just show up and say he man I brought y’all some racks of ribeyes and Rick would just grab em and start cooking em. It was such an amazing community of folks and everyone was welcome to stay and eat and drink.
He was a great guy and a real Tiger fan. I really will miss him.

Reports out of Pointe Coupee this morning that Big Rick Berrios has passed away last night in his sleep.
RIP brother. He literally has fed thousands of Tiger fans and others over the years.
Omaha just won’t be the same without Big Rick cooking for anyone and everyone.

He was a four star out of Livonia. I watched him play 15-20 games in high school. He played both ways and as a running back he was electric with the ball in his hand. Great kid from a great family.

Stephen Guidry from Livonia absolutely dominated their game in the playoffs. Jazz was committed to LSU at the time and SG wasn’t really that well known then.

Met his uncle a few weeks ago in Pittsburgh. He was telling me how excited his nephew was to come to LSU and how the family thought that by coming here to play ball he would gain a lot of exposure that he did not get in high school for multiple reasons.
I was more excited to learn that he chose LSU over the Pirates being that his entire family is from Pittsburgh and he had an opportunity to play professionally there. While I know he played high school ball in Florida, his family has roots in Pittsburgh and I imagine this made the decision to come to LSU over the Pirates a little more difficult than most.

Most agreements I sign with companies are at least 10+ pages, but what we actually want from each other could be described in one paragraph or less each. Most of the extra stuff is spelling out what should happen in the event some 1 in a million thing occurs. I wonder how much time and money is spent on the lawyers needed to consult on such overly complex agreements vs. the time and money that would be spent if you treated 1 in a million events like 1 in a million events and just dealt with them when they happened?
You know why this stuff is in my agreements right? Cause all day every day I deal with problems arising from issues that you call one in a million. In addition the problem is usually made worse due to the fact that instead of getting a good agreement in place on the front end you and the other contracting party made an agreement that had one paragraph on a bar napkin using colors and are now pissed off at each other and wanting to extract blood from the other while telling me it's not about the money "it's about the principal".

Look I have been friends with the man for nearly 20 years. He is a great guy and a phenomenal recruiter. His on the field coaching problems are well documented here so I won't get into it but his value to this University was in the recruiting relationships he has established over the years. It takes time to build trust and he excelled at that.
I know I am biased somewhat because he and I are friends so I defend him a little more than I should which is not popular on this board and other circles, but after he accepted the HC position at NSU Nick Saban called and offered him a position on his staff at Alabama which was twice the money of the HC position at NSU. He turned it down. I think everyone and their grandmother would agree that Saban doesn't offer someone a staff position unless that guy would bring tremendous value to his program.
