so...really....this was the best design solution?
Architecture grad student here, stuff like this is overlooked way too much. I understand why, but there is certainly more appealing alternatives to this. For one, they could have at least designed the drain locations to align flushed with the cantilevering concrete beams. On top of that they could have also created a metallic cover that cradled the pipe and provided for a more aesthetically pleasing connection to the concrete above/on the side.

Rational human being here, the fact that this project hasn't been completed is overlooked way too much. The exposed panel that lines up with the piping suggests that there will be some aesthetic improvements.
I wonder if ProductofNOLA can fill us in.

Not surprising. In fact I feel like that is kind of the norm in stadiums I've between in where I was under the overhang.
it is the norm. it seems very logical. if you have an upper deck, you need to drain the water, and it would be almost impossible to hide a pipe like that any other way. i'd love to hear an opinion of someone in the construction field of a better way to do it, not just a "there are other ways" vague comment. i mean the thing is only visible from underneath the overhang and doesn't impede anyone's view of the field.

Let's just let them finish before the ticky tacky bull shite complaints.
I remember when the new west upper was being constructed. it was looking good and then towards the end the brown "bricks" started being installed, then everybody noticed the sewage pipe, then the prison bars went over 2 of the 3 sections of the windows. Point being, don't always expect the finished product to be better.

How much is this renovation costing?
200 million?
and how many men are working on it daily?
Just curious...
thanks

Covering the lateral span of the piping is fine, but I doubt that there will be a drop down ceiling so my point still stands. they could have been more deliberate in routing the pipe in a manner that is a bit less distracting. I have an appreciation for the small details.
Oh, and congratulations on your title as "ration human being", your mother must be proud

This just reeks of captain hindsight
