That people like those end zones is bizarre

Those saying the midfield logo should be changed permanently should be locked in a padded room

lol, no you can keep it up, personally I would never want it as a long term change, but its nice to see a change for the spring game ... I just think the reactions are amusing

I thought the font change on the numbers was just a different one year nod to some year in the past. The font for the numbers in this spring game is the same we had last year during the season.

Not sure what's wrong with them.

They're really not busy at all, unless people can't handle symmetry. When you consider the history of the endzones with different colors, or the diamonds, or the fat 70s-looking font that Saban brought back, or the arches, these are pretty clean.

I've never been a huge fan that goofy Geaux font, though.

How is the Geaux font goofy? Its a very clean and serious font. Its also professional enough that its used not only for athletics, but in all aspects of the university.

This was goofy:

There was gold block LSU letters during DiNardo for sure.

The eye is iconic and bad-arse. Don’t fix what isn’t broken. And get off my lawn.

It’s Mickey Mouse, like something Maryland would do.

Having a state logo with a bit more detail like an outline or something would be really fricking cool for a game or two.

Yup

Can we keep the Zones

Sad day if this is true. Never get rid of our iconic eye of the tiger midfield logo. Wtf. This is atrocious.

Since 2000. Geaux Font since 2005. Not sure if I would say it's an ingrained tradition but probably the only real recollection of many of the posters. I think there was no midfield logo in the 90s, for the most part.

Lol. No. The eye was used prior to 2000 but the end zones differed. I’m the 90s it was “TIGERS” in the end zones and LSU arched at mid field. When Saban arrived, (maybe just coincidence) the end zones changed to the big old school LSU lettering across the entire end zone and the eye was brought back. I’m 05 (Miles’s first year as well) the end zones were changed to the smaller LSU in the geaix font as said earlier. Just this past year, they changed that to removing the white outline as well as changing the font on the yard markers.

I’m not one that’s against change sometimes but I hate the new numbers as the older ones to me made the field look wider and was more inline with Death Valley than what we have now. Just not crazy about them.

I’m def ready for an end zone change and like these but if I had my choice, I’d bring back the end zones that were there during ghe saban era.

I had thought that maybe the coach decided that at lsu since it seemed to change with the administration however when Orgeron was named it stayed the same so IDK.

Except for the fact that Maryland just puts their state flag in the endzone and looks nothing like this.

It looks like a spring game field. Way too busy. The eye is tasteful and classic. It’s identifiable to almost anyone who knows sports.

End zones are terrible. Not good proportions. Those diamond TIGERS end zones from the 80s would be cool.
