Not surprised. Lots of new faces. The team does possess the potential to be VERY good. I’m looking forward to basketball.

Not unexpected. But it doesn’t matter either. The rankings in CBB are ENTIRELY irrelevant.
And for those who are “surprised”, here is a spoiler. LSU is going to be picked to finish between 5th and 7th in the SEC (likely 6th, just ahead of Florida). Again, that doesn’t matter.

After Christmas break LSU has this (KenPom Rank):
Dec 29 - @Aub (28)
Jan 4 - UK (17)
Jan 8 - Tenn (13)
Jan 12 - @Fla (25)
Jan 15 - Ark (15)
Jan 19 - @Bama (19)
Jan 22 - @Tenn (13)
We will probably be underdogs against each of those, but that's 7 straight Quad 1 games to start SEC play but it gets much easier after that.

Not surprised. They will continue to underrate LSU. Maybe if LSU is a Top 10 team in reality, the AP voters will put LSU in their Top 25

I think Auburn is a wait and see. They’re a 13-14 team who lost their best player. Pearl has brought in some nice talent but I don’t see how they’re predicted to be so far ahead of us if we’re going by the same predictive standards. Alabama lost its best 2 players including the SEC defensive and overall player of the year. Wade hasn’t lost to Tennessee since his first season at LSU, he owns Barnes. Kentucky is Kentucky and we’ll see how they bounce back. Florida has been a matchup problem for us, it’s a battle of contrasting styles and is always tough. The point is if you’re looking at it from a poll centric point of view it looks tougher than what it probably is but of course we won’t know until we actually see these teams play.

Try to win the SEC and then get a good seed in the Dance. That is all.

Ha ! We gotim right where we wantim. Will take a bit for this team to come together, but a lot of talent. Should be a fun season.

Yeah depending on how quick this team can gel will mean the difference between a top 4 seed and a 7-10 seed.
