Talked to a Very Reliable Source from USM Yesterday. Berry hunts on his land. As per Berry, Waldrup is getting 6 figures from LSU.

I don't really get the girlfriend angle, because I'd imagine he's only playing one more season. Then he's off to the pros anyways. Or maybe that is the appeal. I wonder if the girlfriend is in college there or if it's just closer. Looks like UF is still about 2 and half hours from his hometown, but I admit I know nothing about any of them.
I think if it's only for one season I would rather play for the best team and coaching staff while also making the most money. If necessary I'd move the girlfriend over for a season.

Not just $$, but also the fact that he’d be getting coached up by an (apparently) highly-regarded ex-MLB pitching coach in Baton Rouge.
