I don’t know enough about Verge to opine. It’s not about him. We fired a well-respected, well-connected AD with a pedigree & replaced him with a nobody with a cloud following him around in the span of a freaking week.
Our worst fears about Woodward firing Kelly, having buyout money secured, and being pushed out over a personal vendetta appear all but confirmed.
It seemed likely at the time, but now there’s no doubt. This was an opportunistic rug pull & there was never any grand plan. Why would there be? We were dealing with BCS Landry.

The one thing I’m optimistic about is that I don’t think we need to worry about Jay. Let me be clear, I don’t know shite.

It will be hard to fire someone that’s survived six coaching regimes and five AD tenures. No doubt the dude has dirt on everyone that was associated with lsu since early 90s.

This is entirely self-inflicted.
Woodward was a lifetime lock at AD, likely just witnessed the 1/100 perfect storm scenario where he doesn’t retire at LSU.

Josh and Lillie were born and raised in Hammond. Josh’s whole family are huge LSU people. I see his sister time to time at games, BUT his 3 boys are his world and they’re thriving in Athens.
