Let's just say for a moment that what you're saying is true. The problem is that if LSU fires him, Paul is going to be rejuvenated and then probably kick arse at his next job and be a threat to LSU winning the title with our next coach.

The LSU baseball program has been riding the last decade with the same problem that the football program had towards the end of Miles' tenure. Fat and happy, complacent, milking the 2009 title, look at the dynasty we were in the 90's, etc.
That's great for the history books and the old video vault. But I don't know about y'all, I kind of like the present too. It's cool to reminisce, but it's also kind of cool to observe what's going on right now too. And what's going on right now is that programs like Vanderbilt and Oregon State are not only gaining on our title count, but they're also leaving us in the dust currently. In other words, they don't "oooh and aaaah" at our 6 National Championships, like we think they do. And really, we need to stop doing that shite too. That period was 25+ years ago. It's time to focus on the now.

I do support the team no matter what. I just know that this program isn even close to where it should be bc I'm not an idiot. Manieri will get his arse fired if he doesn't make a deep run this year and it will be his own damn fault if he does.
