The only autograph I've ever actively tried to obtain was Warren Morris'. The reason is obvious. His homerun was the moment I fell into being an LSU baseball head first. They were having a Warren Morris day at the old Box and he was giving autographs.

I gave him the photo and he said "This is my favorite thing I've signed all day."

It was a little strange asking a guy that is only 2 years older than me for an autograph.

He said he was with his 8 year old so don't be an a-hole to this guy. With that being said, I agree with your comment and may even go lower than 12. It's a little creepy to see adults getting autographs and acting like children.

Just like your University's sports programs, that link is broken.

Since apparently remaining compliant on this issue is very important for you, I'm just curious if you went through the Compliance Office for your autograph per the information you posted.

who would buy that?

I can't see there being a huge demand for autographs from a college baseball team.

I pick up LSU and Saint's autographed stuff for my church auction every year.
Stuff goes good.

The worst is when you walk up with a couple 8 year olds and they can't get to the rail because these 40 year old arse clowns hog all the space.

Thanks for calling out these arse hats. Get a life losers

would like to hear what some like antiquetiger and olegreg have to say on this but other than that I think the vast majority agree that purely doing this to make money is wrong...not saying they do this, but know that they know much more about how things are done in this regard and I welcome their thoughts here

sorry, but who really pay for an autograph from and LSU baseball player? I'm sure kids get excited about it on gameday, but a grown person buying that on EBay ?

that's terribly lame

My wife and I get stuff signed all the time. We're not far removed from college and collect LSU memorabilia. We have autographs from the 1930's to present. It's something that can be passed down to our children and will not lose their value ( except maybe JR and JJ autographs)

We never sell anything we obtain, except if it is a duplicate and that is to trade with others who collect usually

All collections vary in importance to the person collecting. If the collection in question happens to be autographs of players, teams, certain sports whether it be college or pro then it is not hurting anyone just like collecting stamps doesnt hurt anyone. As long as the person seeking an auto is respectful to the player as well as the other people also wanting an autograph then their is no harm. Also i think most would agree that if you obtain something and there comes a point where you realize that someone else may enjoy it more then there is no harm in selling it with the intent to buy something else you may have your eye on......in my case i always look to trade items for something i currently want.....if that cannot be worked out then i try to sell the said items that were orginally offered up in a trade if the owner of the item you like would prefer the cash.....this is very common in all areas of collecting. Im not as big on autographs as some collectors and would very much prefer any jerseys i obtain to NOT be autographed...but to each there own.....for people putting down someone simply b/c they obtain an autograph in a polite mannor i would prob guess they have their own self esteem problems and its nothing more than them trying to put someone down to make themselves feel better.
