Yep, Hatch and Etling really soured me on Miles. Both great guys but come on. To have a program with the revenue-generating power of LSU rely on Jennings, Hatch, and Etling is just reckless, careless, and irresponsible.

I don't see how etling fits in with these other guys you listed. He wasn't a world beater but he was far from the liability that these other guys were.

Burrow is far and away number 1, Russell is easily number 2 and there is a bit of a gap between him and Davey/Mettenberger.

Also, Jefferson was better than Harris.

IMHO from best to worst = Mett, Etling, Lee, Jefferson, Jennings, Harris, Hatch, Rivers.

This part is just hard to make sense of.

Rivers doesn't count. That's like ranking jerard Randell in here. Neither played, at all.

Trust me when I tell you this, Brandon Harris was an extremely talented qb.besides his accuracy problems, His other deficiencies werent physical, to be kind.

With that said, Anthony Jennings wasnt anywhere near Brandon Harris.
Brandon was more talented and had a better season. He had us number 2 in the nation and undefeated going into the bama game .I believe he took bama to overtime too.

Jennings can't hold his jock and Brandon wasn't very good. That tells you what I think of Jennings. The fact that he started a whole season against sec competition, may have been miles biggest blunder as a coach and recruiter.

Etling was a solid guy and good QB, good enough to get NFL looks.

Plus he was a Purdue transfer, so he didn't recruit him in the basic sense. He had to recruit him to pick Lsu after he decided to transfer though

Can you explain to me why Hatch is at the bottom of your list?

Just by watching them throw a football and the offense we run mow.

Just based on the throws hes made in mopup duty show that he will be better then etling and Mauck was pretty good but I think he will be better.

Yeah, so far I guess you could switch them. But, like I said, I've seen them throw footballs, and one of those three don't look the same as the others.

I think metts 2nd half of the bama game his junior year and on, we're the second best games I've seen an Lsu qb play.

Totally agree about the 2nd half of that 2012 Bama game. Mett was making tough throw after tough throw while getting blasted by Bama defenders and Saban's defense was completely helpless to stop it. Unfortunately, the only guy who could stop Mett in the second half that night was standing on LSU's sideline in a goofy white hat. The gutsy "mad hatter" crawled fully into his shell that night never to return.

Up 17-14 with 2:00 to go in the 4th with a QB playing the half of his life, ALL LSU needed was a first down to end the game (Bama was out of TO's). Instead, Les takes the ball out of his QB's hands and plays for a long FG that even if made STILL keeps it a one score game. It's missed. Chavis's defense falls apart and LSU loses the revenge game that would have put them in drivers seat for a SEC and national championship.

That second half was one of the most electric scenes in Tiger Stadium history. On that final drive Mettenberger had gone 3 for 4 and just completed an impossible pass to OBJ between double coverage. Then, Les just quit on his QB. That was the sickest I've ever felt walking out of an LSU game aside from the 2007 loss to Arkansas. Those kids had NO BUSINESS losing that game, but their coach didn't believe in them enough to allow them to step on Bama's throat.

Looking back, it changed the trajectory of the program. LSU wouldn't be a true NC contender again until this past season

mop up Duty is a lot different than leading a team all season long. Just bc you look good against Georgia Southern’s scout team doesn’t mean you’ll do well against Florida or Alabama. Brandon Harris looked good throwing the ball without pads on or in spring games too. Look where that got us.

Hell, Anthony Jennings came on in a crucial situation and led a 99 yard game-winning drive.

How'd that turn out?

Once again great guy but the only reason he was here was that Les failed to recruit the position long term.

I thought Harris was worse than Jefferson but either way, they were both dumpster fires.
