I saw a thread that got whacked, and I had written a reply, but as a poster child for Negatigers, let me say this:

Some coaches just rub you the wrong way. Les Miles pissed me off in 2005. I never could stand him.

I hated Cholly Mac. I liked but never loved Stovall. I loved Arnsparger, but was neutral on Archer then slowly disliked him. I hated Hallman moments after his first game.

Then DiNardo came. I liked the hire and was pretty much happy with him. The issue was that he had a disconnect with his players in that he was too cerebral for the team (they just had Hallman). Then it got to where the players were telling the coach they wouldn’t play for him. (Talking QB controversies back then).

Along comes Saban and I wasn’t sold on that hire either. I soon realized quickly that he ruled with an iron fist - and that earned me a lot of respect. Although he got us a Natty in his 4th season, I really was skeptical of his process. Until then I really couldn’t understand why we replaced Gerry with Nick, but I definitely saw the difference and finally understood his process.

In fairness to Leslie, it only took him 4 years also to give us a Natty and he had serious mental health issues.

Hell dumbass Orgeron had 4 seasons himself to get us there.

I’m quick to hate a coach (I’m even somewhat fairly certain I may even not care for Kelly), HOWEVER, even I’m giving him 2 more seasons before I hate him. And that says a lot. If a dumbass hothead negatiger like myself can do this, anyone can.

My honest spitball assessment is Kelly is a Gerry DiNardo 2.0. I really hope I’m wrong. Just don’t pull the plug on BK just yet who knows, he might prove you and me wrong and turn out yo be a Saban 2.0.

Who? Miles? If so, ‘05 hired ‘07 BCS? Then 4 later and well let’s forget about it.

I really agree with you on just about everything you said although I kind of like to Charlie Mack and thought I would give Jerry Stovall a lot of chance although that fell flat. The Thing that I think we should look at is look Over at Flo Rida state who had a successful program for many years under Bobby Bowden Then a national championship began with Jimbo Then a Fall off TheMike Norvell comes in and how many years has it taken him to get where they are today and I Believe they are one of the best teams in the nation. I Believe it has taken him 4 years to get where they are today so as You said we have to be a little Patient

Kelly should have fired house after the ole miss game. The fact that he didn’t is an indictment on his judgement. We win last night with a coach that knows how to call a QB spy. Chew on that

Trust me I’ve been chewing and frothing at the mouth. Only a dumbass loses three times the same way. And I will slowly have my torch and pitchfork ready even sooner if he doesn’t fire House. All I’m saying is we really ought to give him 2 more years.

There were plenty who wanted Miles gone after the ‘05 UThug loss.

Good that didn’t happen.

With time, CBK will prove he’s a program builder or he’s not. Less than 2 seasons does not a case make either way.

You can give him time but I struggle to believe he can be the guy to turn it all around. He cant even fire the DC when it’s obvious to everyone it’s the right move. Waiting til the end of the season won’t help anything. Admit you’re wrong and move on.

Let me see Kelly with some actual defensive talent first. The offensive system put in place seems to be good.

Now if we can’t get that said talent and a competent DC then that’s an indictment on him and he would need to go

I’m actually starting to lean towards your feel for Dinardo and Kelly. I think Kelly’s coaching way is great, but the players he has just have a disconnect with him. And the bad thing is it may be a cultural thing and he may truly not be a great fit for LSU athletes. Notre Dame is totally different. Not saying he isn’t a really good coach and can’t have LSU with 10 wins a year. I just don’t know if he can get through with his way for championships here.

You lost me here. Saban was building a monster...Too bad for us he wanted to take a shot at the NFL.

When are y’all gonna realize nobody cares what you think or feel. Be a fan, support the team but the negativity is good for nobody. Not good for your health nor is it helpful on any level. There’s more important things

Issue is he’s trying to install a ND or B1G program in the sec and it won’t work. Can he adapt? Sure. But now, lsu will have to take a step back in year 3 to put in a new defense. Year 3 was suppose to be a contender. Year 4, the bare goes back thin.. So we’re looking at year 5 at a shot? That’s halfway through his era. Just screams a meh era in lsu football history

It’ll always be two more years. He’ll never produce. Never has.

Regardless, nobody can think about getting rid of him for another 5 due to Woodward’s “genius”. In the meantime, guess we just have to watch the show and listen to him lecture us about process in postgame press conferences.

Firing a coordinator a couple games into the season is only something typical dumb fans think of.

Now firing him after Bama is warranted.
