While i agree that the hitting is getting better we also have to remember that Vandy gave us a shite ton of free passes that helped with those runs scored, Friday we only had what 2 hits going into the 7th, Saturday same thing, yesterday did look a lot better. I think the arms will calm down and come around and the batting we will get better and we will have a pretty good ball club..

This team just gives up too many big innings. Seems every game they give up a 3, 4, 5, or 6 run inning out of nowhere and lose the game by 1 to 3 runs.
Walking the bases loaded and giving up 6 runs on Friday killed that game.
If they can somehow limit those boneheaded innings and stop leaving so many LOB, these close games will start being some wins.

I think it’s further than a hair but I also believe they drastically improve going forward. I don’t think they win it all but I think they can be pretty damn good. Lot of new pieces trying to figure out how to play together.

This team is not good right now. I think we can improve enough to at least make a run, although I think Omaha is the ceiling and would be a massive win.

Winning Game 3 was a pretty big deal in laying a foundation for later. Would have been worse to have been swept in first SEC appearance

I agree somewhat. I do think they will start putting it together soon. Jay is just too good of a coach. I think they have played below their talent level and will start playing. However I don’t think the talent level is there to get us to Omaha this year. We just lost too much and not enough portal players are panning out. But I do think we start playing at a higher level as the season goes on.
