I hope LSU goes undefeated and wins the National Championship. I think we will be a lot better than most people think. But Jesus some of you are trying wayyy to hard. This team has a "special feeling"...you get that on day 3 of camp?

I totally understand what you are saying. I am usually of your mindset, but I have an unusually optimistic outlook. I really hope that optimistic mindset isn't a brain F&%T.

There just seems to be a more positive attitude among the players. I look to have some mistakes by the young players, but I get that "Special Feeling" about this team. I think this team will be fun to watch.

I'm getting a lot of 2008 and 2009 LSU in this team. I expect 4 or 5 losses this season.

This is simply retarded.

You mean people that have had season tickets long before this decade's great run of success? People that contribute money to the program? Still a fan. Still will be cheering for the Tigers every step of the way. That doesn't mean you can't objectively look at the situation and render an opinion based upon the information at hand.

Yea, I think the talent level and work enthusiasm of Harris/Jennings is miles ahead of Lee/Jefferson at this point. Plus even though not much Jennings DOES have game experience and a full year under CCC.

It's hard to pin point what it is, but it's a Special vibe that this team is sending off. I hate jumping the gun from just a couple of days of practice, but dammit I haven't felt this good about us since 2011. I think we will make a big splash on the scene in Houston and people will have to take notice of us.

I think a bunch of these kids are realizing they probably only have a couple of years to make their contributions. They aren't all going to be there for the long haul peaking out in their fifth year. This team seems ready to go now, and I can't wait.

And with all this being said, you aren't the least bit optimistic or excited about the possibilities of this team? You pretty much counted them out all together with your previous post.

Exactly...these guys have an elite QB coach/playcaller...sadly Lee/Jefferson never had that

We have had a total of 2 1/2 days of practice with no pads. Every team in Amercia looks like NC contenders right now.

Will someone please mail this man some P&G glasses. He obviously didn't get in on the first order.

I dig the positivity, but I just don't see it. This team is too young and too inexperienced to make a natty run. Hope I'm wrong.

The 3 games I worry about are Wisconsin, Auburn, and A & M.I have no doubt that we will beat Bama at home, it's a given.

I fully expect flashes of greatness this year, but with the youth on offense and a defense that returns a bunch of player who, quite frankly, underperformed last year...I'm not expectimg much.

First time for everything. One day there will be the right group of freshmen that crash onto the scene and win a national championship. Why not this group? There's a chance, albeit small.

The stars in college football are getting younger and younger every year.

A&M fielded one of the worst Defenses in the last 20 years in the SEC, and they lost Johnny, they don't worry me one bit

Im not expecting a natty run, but a fun season ending with around 10 wins...a good bowl game and win setting up for a pretty big run.

-Tough first game against Wisconsin
-Tough road games against Auburn and Florida.
-Alabama will obviously be good.
-The Mississippi schools are much improved.
-A&M will take a step back, but we play them on the road. Arkansas, on the road, and the Hogs can't get any worse. They always play us tough as well.

Oh yeah...we're replacing our quarterback, two best receivers, and Hill. Oh, and our defense was good, but not great.

But...but...Hunter's veins!

national media has forgotten all about LSU it seems like

Pretty much the same as 2003. The pundits had predicted great things for the Tigers in '02 but the Mauck injury short-circuited that season. Many thought the Tigers would have contended with 'Bama last season(And they surely could have) but things didn't work out. Now it's breaking in a new QB and Wideouts, lost both D-Tackles, blah, blah... I think the Tigers will win the SEC in 2015 but they could pull off a bit of a surprise and sail in a year early. Really all hinges on two things, IMHO. Steady QB play and solid run defense. That and a bit of good fortune could make '14 an unforgettable season.

Not sure how this is relevant to anything.

It's tough to win on the road period in the SEC. At the end of the season when guys are tired and beat up, wouldn't you rather have more than one home game in the final month?

What does Thanksgiving have to do with anything? We usually play the day after.

And they usually don't play very well. How many times has LSU struggled against some bad/mediocre Ark. teams?

quote:

Travin Dural caught a game winning touchdown pass against Arkansas last year. I'd say that was making a play. I'm sure you would argue otherwise.

I hope Dural is great. He seems to have all the physical tools you need to be a good WR. However, I'm not ready to come to a definite conclusion about how he will stack up over the course of a season based upon one good play.

I don't know. How did they fare in the bowl game?

The 2 primary DT's from that game no longer on the team. And last I checked, Iowa isn't on the schedule this year.

just my dumbass opinion

Nah. Just an opinion based upon the information on hand instead of just "gut feelings"

Every season no less than 25 people post this same thing nearly verbatim at some point in August.

But it was nice to see Hunter and Rasco get pressure against them all game...Iowa always has a solid O-line. LaCouture was good in that game as well.
