re: This Stanford offense is what I'd love to see at LSU

Here are the comparison stats:
PPG YPG Pass Rush
Stanford: 28.5 376.8 203.5 173.3
LSU : 30.3 387 207.3 179.1
So Stanford avg fewer points, fewer total yds, fewer passing yds and fewer rushing yards, all while playing what most on the rant would say were HS defenses compared to the SEC, but yes, its much better than LSU's offense
I think we can put the premise of this thread to bed. Not much more can be said to argue against this pots right here

shite, if LSU had any other coach in the nation records would be set every game, and we'd hang 70 on every team.
Don't be silly. They'd score at least 90.

Les Miles would have been crucified if he lost to Washington 17-13.

Your facts are useless against our defenses.
j/k. Yeah, that pretty much killed the whole premise of my thread.

People didn't even realize that LSU's offense was better than stanford's AND we destroyed a team they lost to this very year.
I mean, if that isn't a perfect example.

Kudos to you for admitting it, unlike the others who will not respond.
I'm not fan of our O, but my point about the grass being greener is that as LSU fans we live and die with every LSU play. We simply don't watch other teams as intently. So Car fans gripe that Spurrier gets too cute and throws too much when he should run. After the A&M game, Bama fans were beside themselves that they didn't run from inside the 5 on the last drive that ended in a pick. Everyone gripes about play calling (you should hear Texans fans about now). Sometimes its legit, but more often than not its just 20/20 hindsight. What they ran didn't work, so naturally some other magic play would have.
As for LSU, I think our problem is up front more than anything else. Over Miles tenure the talent on the OL is not as good. The only Miles era OLman on the NFL is Barksdale and he was cut in mid season before being picked up. Mean while 3 Saban era guys and 1 DiNardo recruit (from his first class no less) is still in the League. That's why Studrawa needs to go, OL development or just recruiting has been off.

Difference is Stanford players are discipline and execute. They also lack the overall personal talent that LSU has. I love the pro formation, but I long for an OC with a brain. Stud isn't a high level OC.

I've always said I want David shaw as the next coach at LSU.

Essentially this, but Stanford utilizes multiple tight ends and unbalanced formations. We pretty much just run your conventional I formation. Sometimes Stanford will have two fullbacks leading plus pulling guards. They will misdirect with their guards. They are much more creative with their blocking schemes.
Florida's offense this year has been more akin to Stanfords than ours. Ours is very vanilla comparatively.

I'm not sure how you define more disciplined, but if they executed better, they should avg more points and yards.
As for overall talent in the 2012 NFL draft, Stanford had 4 offensive players drafted: #1, 24, 34 and 42. LSU's only offensive player drafted was #63, Rueben Randle.
For the 2013 draft Stanford has 2 offensive players projected to go in the first 4 rounds, LSU maybe 1.

Much of that is because of player development. I have supported Les and the staff until last night. I can't any longer. Our oline looked lost. Lael is constantly beat on inside stunts. We always seem to have a gaurd standing and not blocking anyone.

The OL has been the biggest issue imo for the offensive performance. Until last night it looked much better from the USCe game on. I don't know if it is poor development, poor schemes or just poor talent evaluations in recruiting by the OL has not played well overall except last year. I would be all for a change in OL coach. I've been hoping Studrawa got an HC offer in the MAC

Stanford's offense is way more talented than LSU's

I disagree, talent is not the problem on the LSU offense.

Also need someone to teach Mett how to throw an accurate vertical pass over 20 yards. He has overthrown 4 out of every 5 vertical passes. Most aren't close.
Player development is horrific on offense.

Then their coaches must be some of the worst in the game, much worse than LSU's since LSU is slightly better across the board.
