This Stanford offense is what I'd love to see at LSU

If anyone asks "what would you like LSU to do," this is it. Still features power running, but with passes and big plays mixed in to keep the D off balance.

It's less predictable than LSU, the players execute, and the offense develops a rhythm, which Miles' teams never seem to be able to do.

just talked to someone and said the same thing. Still power running intensive, but with creative playcalling as well

From an outside prospective that is exactly what LSU does.

Is our offensive philosophy really that far off though? There's a lot here that seems to fit with what Miles does.

It doesn't take a lot to be less predictable, and if our guys would make the plays, seems like our offense could look like this.

Rumors out of Blacksburg is that Beamer is going to offer the Stanford OC some money to come back East.

I just want an offense

It won't ever happen because Miles can not develop a QB. Plus Miles has a huge influence on the offense.

The differences are largely gaps in perception; one works, and one doesn't, despite similar concepts-- so the one that doesn't succeed must somehow be a different, better scheme, rather than just a more proficiently executed one that is very similar.

Stanford is an SEC team in the PAC 12.

Stanford plays in the Pac 12, which most you would point out is not as good, especially defensively as the SEC.

Here are the comparison stats:
PPG YPG Pass Rush
Stanford: 28.5 376.8 203.5 173.3

LSU : 30.3 387 207.3 179.1

So Stanford avg fewer points, fewer total yds, fewer passing yds and fewer rushing yards, all while playing what most on the rant would say were HS defenses compared to the SEC, but yes, its much better than LSU's offense

They are also a lot smarter than to pine for an offense that is identical statistically.

If LSU had a real coach, all of those numbers would double.

What the LSU offense is missing is a safety outlet like Stanford has in Ertz.

When was the last time LSU had a beast TE?

Double?

shite, if LSU had any other coach in the nation records would be set every game, and we'd hang 70 on every team.
