Think Nuss is being hammered with playing cautiously. It's just not him. He is a gunslinger. Think it is messing up his head.

I disagree. He looked as though “something” was not quite right every time he ran the ball.

ay what you will about their record but Clemson D is way more talented than the other 2

Not so sure about that. I do think Clemson's top players are better than Florida's top players, but 1-11, not sure that's the case I think overall their talent is very comparable on D - their being Florida and Clemson.

It’s not incompetency. The offensive has been instructed to be vanilla and not lose the game. The defense is top 10 and they don’t want Nuss taking unnecessary risks.

I think it's simpler than that. We are just a good QB and play-caller away from being a contender. A very familiar feeling here at LSU to me, very similar to every season after Mett left up until burrow got here.

Which will cost us games alter this year. Just like prevent defense only prevents you from winning. You don't play not to lose, you play to win!

I’ll say it, Sloan cannot handle this job.

LSU is 3-0 with two very nice wins.

Enjoy the season and quit moaning about everything.

Good luck with that. They will never stop because you see they are all fabulous ex college offensive coordinators who know more than our entire coaching staff. Ensminger got the same hate. The two college coaches I know who had to defend against Ensminger said they never knew what he was going to do. They dreaded it.

Agreed, Fla has a good team. They are one of our major rivals. They had a good game plan including getting in our heads pregame. It worked jacking Weeks up and out . It was a dog fight. We had to rely on D and special teams to get an ugly win. Let's enjoy it and let the staff work on things and hopefully get us in the playoffs.

I think it's 2nd. Nuss was able to scramble at seemingly full health vs Florida and another time or two in prior weeks. Didn't look injured in his scrambles

Any injury may not be with his legs but his throwing shoulder. It would explain not throwing deep balls and under throwing the one deep ball in the La Tech game that was intercepted.

I think it’s simpler and it’s o-line related.

1) trying too hard to establish the run and the o-line can’t enforce its will in run blocking.

2) can’t go vertical enough because Nuss doesn’t have enough time for the play to develop because he doesn’t trust his o-line and defenses have no respect for the QB once the pocket collapses. So the play calling is resorting to screens and slants.

That would be really great if the goal was to be 3-0! Pretty sure the team and the fan have much larger aspirations! Opinions are being expressed on how we get there !

I have a 3rd explanation.
BK is terrified of an unleashed Nuss. Nuss is good for 400+ yards per game however, when he goes over 400 yards it's usually paired with a couple of Ints which means you are handing the opponent 7 to 10 points. I think BK is good with 250 yrds out of Nuss combined with a 125 to 150 yard ruhing game. Own the TOP and field position and win with defense. This is very boring football to watch, LSU can proably win 10 or 11 games doing this. The problem with this strategy is that Nuss is not that kind of QB. At times he even looks bored or disgruntled out there. Full throttle Nuss scares the crap out of BK. I say turn Nuss loose and score 30+ points per game. Go ahead and spot the opponent 10 points. With this defense the opponent still won't break 20 to 24 points . We still win by 10 to 14. Bottom line, it's fun to watch.
BK's strategy will cause us to lose a couple because we really don't have a running game that will produce 125 - 150 yards rushing consistently. 250 passing and 150 yards rushing works. It's the 150 that's the problem. We aren't hitting 125-150. So far this year, we have about 265 yards rushing. That's less than a 100 yrds per game average. That is going to bite us at some point. It might be bama or a&m or both. It means the def has to be perfect every game and stay pretty healthy. That's too much to ask in the SEC..I saw 30+ points in the UF game and we hit 20. And it was an ugly 20. Yea we won it like BK said, but we probably won't win the 2 or 3 big games left on the schedule and I think BK knows this. 1 He has a chance to run the table with this defense, but something has to improve with the offense to make the run... Find a way to add another 40 to 60 yards to the rushing game or take the shakles off Nuss.. 9 or 10 wins is still a pretty good season, but this defense has 11 or 12 win potential. These guys are pretty good. Don't waste this opportunity.. Nuss is gone after this year.
