If they are going to have this many teams in playoffs they need to reduce regular season back to 10 games. Of course money dictates this will never happen. Is this college or semi-pro minor leagues? Too many games over a longer period of time. Football is not baseball or basketball where you can have multiple games in a week.

We have made than almost every year but a few in last 20 or so as historically we are a top 10-12 team , but it will really benefit everyone as this bullshite block that Alabama and others have on the playoffs by using everything at their disposal to dominate their conference is coming to an end.
For example, the year that auburn beat Alabama be the SEC West champion all went to lose to Georgia, because of injured players in Alabama went on to eventually win the national championship. But more importantly, they had to go through a stretch of 3 to 4 weeks of playing very tough ranked teams in which they could not Survive. LSU, Miss State, Auburn etc.
Injuries, fatigue, luck, being up every week etc will take their toll. You’re going to see significantly more upset than we have in the current system which allows the best teams to essentially get a month and a half to rest and get everybody healthy etc.

That was the argument that was made when they implemented the 4 team playoff. It was supposed to solve everything. Now we are pretending that 12 will solve everything. It won’t. #13 will calling for a 16 team playoff. Can we just stop. Please
You’re missing the point. The intent should never be to solve everything. A 9-7 NFL wild card team is elated to get a shot at making the Super Bowl. Tell me which would be more exciting: A 9-3 LSU team going to the playoffs or going to the Citrus Bowl.

So why is Missouri ranked so high?

Yeah, but no one thinks we might have left out the best team in the country.

It's much easier to tell the #13 team "hey you shouldn't have lost 3 games" than it is to tell the #5 team "I know you only lost 1 game but, you should have been more convincing in the rest of your wins"

Anyone that argues against more meaningful post season football is a fricking idiot.

I do believe this will help LSU get into a tournament on a very regular basis.

8) The best players on teams 7-12 will be much less likely to opt out of the postseason.
quote:
There are tons of reasons to like the 12 team playoff.
1) More big time matchups to end the season.
2) In an era of neutral site games, we get more premier, on-campus matchups.
3) Your team has a better shot to get hot late and make a run rather than being out of it by October.
4) Regular season still matters because you’re playing for byes and home field advantage.
5) Less opportunity for the REC to hose us out of playoff contention.
6) Teams who improve throughout the year still have a fighting chance to make the playoffs.
7) More meaningful games in November.

9) Perhaps more willingness to schedule bigger Sept matchups since that potential win can sway toward top 4 (i.e. bye), but a loss less likely to knock you out of playoff. This past Sept was rather weak on big non-con games

Better get the Defense sorted out or that all may change quickly.
