With the new Sankey Schedule, we dont play them next year, 2028 is back in Tuscaloosa, 2029 they won't be on the schedule. That's as far as the conference has announced to this point and who knows what scheduling will look like in 2030.

Heres to a destruction that satisfies for the next 4+ years.

So if we win this one, Bama will have not won in Tiger Stadium since 2020? I like that.

I hate this. There should be fixed opponents, Bama should be one of them.

This is always a good default, and I am not saying you are wrong.

But when a league balloons to 16 teams and you only play 9 league games, this is the inevitable result.

Alabama was going to get Auburn and Tennessee as permanent opponents no matter what. In no sane world were they agreeing to LSU being their 3rd.

Our consolation prize for no Bama……..trips to Athens and Gainesville.

I’m OK with not having Bama on the schedule every year.

There are fixed opponents.

It may not be the best system, but it gives fans and players the best opportunity to play in every venue in a four year cycle.

LSU still hasn’t played in Athens since Obama was campaigning for a second term.

Well the other side of it is that LSU and UGA won't play each other in the regular season between between 2018 and 2027. Absurd. Conference mates not playing each other for 8 seasons. And next year will be LSU's first trip to Athens in 14 years.

All of the people whining here are also the ones that wanted this round-robin nonsense.
The SEC should have stuck with divisions. It makes the race to the championship more entertaining, and maintains most of the old rivalries.

SEC East
Auburn
Georgia
Florida
Kentucky
Missouri
South Carolina
Tennessee
Vanderbilt

SEC West
Alabama
Arkansas
LSU
Miss St.
Oklahoma
Ole miss
Texas

I like the theory that if you get a 4 year player (okay, I realize this is crazy, but hypothetically if college sports were still college sports) then they get at least 1 home and away game against every conference opponent.

I don't like that the conference has a zillion teams so that unless we have 6 rotating games per team, the 4 year math would be impossible.

When we had 12 teams, the formula of division plus 2 cross-division rotate and 1 permanent opponent was perfect for a 4 year cycle.

We just have too many teams for a division setup.

Thanks to the new schedule format since we added all those Big 12 teams.

15 other SEC schools. 9 game conference schedule. We play 3 permanent "rivals" annually (Ole Miss, Arkansas, aTm). Then we have 6 games against the remaining 12 SEC teams, alternating each year.

I wish we'd have gotten to keep Bama as one of the 3 permanent rivals, but the league office was trying to balance strength of schedule and didn't want to load up Bama with us, Auburn, and Tennessee as their annual games. So I think Bama got Miss State with Auburn and Tenn

I hate all this conference expansion. We had the perfect system with the old 12 team conference and playing all your rivals annually and we still got to play UGA, Tenn, Vandy, Kentucky, and USCe at least twice every five years.
