Everybody said 9-3 or 8-4 record this season before Fournette got rolling with a healthy line and FBs. Now that we're exactly where we thought we'd be, everybody's bitching.
Did those pre season predictions have us getting blown out in 3 straight games by our division rivals? You can't just take that kind of shite at face value. People aren't happy with the way the program is trending and much of it is due to Les.
-Poor QB recruiting. The man has not picked one QB out of HS and developed him into a QB worth a shite in his time year. Is that just poor luck?
-Poor recruiting classes along your front 7 from several years ago is biting you in the arse now.
-Poor coaching staff hires, Peveto and Steele, we're looking at you. Peveto's coverage and return units were average to poor when he was first here and there's no way he should have gotten the gig again. Steele easily had the worst resume of the DC candidates last year yet somehow got the job. The man has done nothing but fail as a DC at his last few stops. Why would that change this go around?
There's plenty more reasons of why Les is in this position, not created by a fricking internet message board.

God what more evidence do you miles apologists need to be convinced. It isn't likely that the next coach or any coach could have as successful of a record as miles had. This is about the direction of where we are headed. Expectations change throughout the year. Had the losses been spread out here or there it would be acceptable. To be skull dragged in three straight by your biggest rivals is NOT ACCEPTABLE. Miles needle has been trending downwards since 1/9. LSU needs to make the change before we cement ourselves as the uga of the west.
Quit hiding behind record and fear of the unknown. You sound like a bunch of oussies afraid to break up with a hot girl that constantly cheats on you. She's great arm candy but she just can't stop lying and cheating, but what if I don't find any better? That's a loser mentality. It's time to upgrade

but understand that the reason we have the stud talent is bc of Miles.
Miles gets credit for his recruiting abilities and honestly, that's really one of the few things that has kept him successful. But he's not the only recruiter that can establish LSU as a top 5 recruiting class year in year out. Plenty of capable individuals that can recruit and coach. Jimbo would be a match made in heaven.

No not even close. The undisciplined , disorganized, stale product Les Miles has put on the field the last two years has caused this. Nothing else.
The undisciplined, disorganized, stale product that started 7-0?

This is an LSU message board. It's meant for discussion of LSU sports, whether that be elation or frustration.
It's not the Rant's fault that the media bases stories on fan message boards.

I disagree on this point: The national media's role is no different here than anywhere else. They will trash a coach during the regular season, but unless he has a consistently losing record, they will turn around and trash the school for firing him. Then, whether the next guy wins or loses, they'll say "I told you so." Most of these national guys are pro-oriented anyway and pay little attention to the college game unless there's some shite to be stirred.
That said, I am not impressed with the way LSU is handling the situation. Too many leaks, and too many factions. If this is satisfactorily resolved by the weekend or early next week, I'll be pleasantly surprised, but I'm not optimistic, given LSU's history.

the miles apologists are the ones who are creating a schism in the fan base. i mean, if we went down swinging in some of these games, acted like we gave a frick against the furmans and towsons of the world, completed more than 4 passes and didn't have to rely on fournette to beat eastern fricking michigan, with the same old issues not rearing their ugly heads then you'd see more rope given to this regime

We beat teams we should have beaten. Carolina and auburn were piles of garbage. State would massacre is if we played them now.
Florida was the lone decent win but had they had will Grier I'm not certain we win.

Les miles created a faction of LSU fans that hated him before game one and tried to make things as miserable as possible the last 11 years?
The group wants Nick Saban and anything less than Nick won't do. They can't live with the fact that Saban is against them and he is not coming back.

The passing game progressed, but maybe not at the speed that we needed it to for the November stretch?
This November stretch has exposed every single flaw on this team.

our willingness to keep the same game plan against a team that has superior players and coaches, and has owned us the last 5 years
Funny thing about that was one of the main reason we won that 9-6 game was because he changed the game plan once JJ went in. Bama was controlling our offense when Lee was in there.
Also, I would go back further than 5 years. LSU is 3-7 against Bama since Saban returned. All of our wins have been by 7 or less; 4 of our losses were by more than 8.

The people that want him gone know more about the business of collegiate athletics, LSU-focused budgets, ticket sales, inner-workings, contract details and MONEY related to this team-much less on-the-field results-than anyone on this board or whining that Miles should be retained.
They've been moving towards this end-game for over a year. The two year contracts, Chavis checking out early, the administration rebuffing Miles when he went to them for a Cam Extension during the year on the way to 7-0...these should've all been dark clouds and ominous warning signs Les should've paid attention to to adjust his ways and correct his course.
He didn't. It was full speed ahead in the same direction he's been going. Which was a one-way-ticket to a downward spiral. We all know it.
He evidently either doesn't have the ability to step outside of himself and see that he is part of the problem, or he doesn't care enough about his career, his staff, his players and his program to make the changes necessary to continue to retain his position as the head coach of our program.
I know-hell we all know-how deeply he cares about LSU and his job, so we know it's not the latter. So I pin the blame on a blind spot. A blind spot a mile wide that simply won't let him do what needs to be done.
Avarice. Ego. Pure ignorance. I'm not really sure. What I am sure of is that to the people who matter-boosters, administrators, BOS members and other stakeholders and rainmakers for LSU-have stopped buying in and are unwilling to continue down the path we're on with Les leading us.
You can like that. Lump that. I don't really care. But if you think its the Rant that's created this, you're delusional. Just stop posting and go grab a drink. Right now. Who cares if its 10:30 CST? You need one.
You've lost the plot.

Well the Rant and the media will get its way, time will tell what the results are. The rant is a bunch of fans who change their minds quickly and regularly. The media can stir shite with no consequence. I never believed that this combination made a difference, I didn't think a message board could make a difference, but I am reconsidering now. I think it played a role in this.
But yes, Les Miles also has his part in it, he is not the coach Nick Saban is, not even close. Sadly anyone who replaces him with will likely not fair any better.
This cannot be undone now, just sit back and watch.

I've been on board the CLM pain train for years now. But at this point in time, if we actually want to move the team in the right direction, it's time for a change.
We know EXACTLY what we have with miles. It's very obvious that it's not going to change with one more year. Especially since he's not going to be able to hire a decent OC.
