the football season not being played out. hey, it was about 6 great weeks of SEC football and I enjoyed it.

there was just no way we were going to get a season in with the rules and protocols for covid. if they only worried about guys who got sick - no problema. but with contact tracing and quarantining the healthy? nada.

Imagine for a moment ( only participate if you are over 27 years old please ), that you are a district sales manager from San Jose to Tampa.

You are fresh of a company-leading 2019 where all 22 of your sales reps smashed all sales metrics and goals.

It was determined by many within and outside the company that it was the best performance over goal ever......ever.

You lost 16 of those sales reps due to circumstance. The remaining reps get disenchanted and don’t want to tackle....errr, make sales calls anymore, after being told that they were the greatest.

Well I could go on.......

I think this has a lot to do with no loss of eligibility and the nature of pre-season. You just cannot act like this is normal when it is so abnormal. You are watching a football team have to put basically multiple people on IR for weeks at a time out of fear. And you are surprised that teams with less experience than others cannot seem to put together consistency.

It was a "hope for the best, but expect the worst" kinda situation for me. I was hoping protocol would help mitigate the virus, but there's too many kids who are in contact with different people everyday. But considering how bad we are there could be worse seasons to lose.

So it affects LSU so much that we are going 3-7 but not Bama that looks like 10-0?

Was COVID a Baton Rouge only deal?

Covid 19 has little to do with LSU's crappy 2-3 record. But Covid 19 is quickly bringing SEC Football to a shutdown. I am disappointed but not surprised.

Back in august I never expected a single game. Despite our performance I’ve been happy to just watch some football. This was never going to be anything but a charley foxtrot. I expect it to continue with more disruptions at best, complete cancel at worst. Let’s just roll with it.

Agree. I never thought football should be played this year. It was only adding to the risk of corona spread, and games would be decided by whatever team had the fewest players confined to their dorm. The caseload was simply too high. The important thing is to get young people educated, meaning bars, football, and restaurants should be far down the list.

It’s a culture problem my man. No one seems to want to admit it. But the locker room is severed.

Other teams navigated this juuuuust fine. We may get blown out by Arky.

Other teams have NOT navigated this just fine. Games are being postponed or canceled left and right.

We all knew this was likely to happen. I figured we'd be lucky to get 3 or 4 games in. So I see this season as better than expected...except the play on the field, of course.

Did you predict the total defensive collapse as well?

This year’s disaster of a season is a conglomeration of factors. But it comes down to three main things. The roster isn’t in great shape with true lack of leadership. The switch to a 4-3 with an abridged off season and lack of players who fit that scheme. Also the disconnect between coaches and players on defense.

Next year we should start solving most of these issues. I believe TJ and some of the other freshmen from this year will step up into leadership roles. We will have recruited another year geared towards the 4-3 plus had a full off season in that system. The coaching on defense is still a question mark to me. Maybe they bring in a defensive “consultant” to help Pelini coach the defense if they can’t afford to fire him this year. But in an ideal situation we’d cut bait with him. He’s not anywhere close to Aranda.

As much money as he is stealing from the University he should pay for his own consultant. Screw LSU paying to help him as he is paid enough as it is.

Between COVID and the BLM crap, it was clear this season was going to suck. I personally wouldn’t care if it ended today.
