That’s baseball it’s what makes baseball so unique everyone wants to change baseball. If LSU takes care of business the first game against Wake it’s a different story. It’s going to make winning a national championship tonight that more impressive

never going to happen

give teams four full days off (not one) after the date of the final if necessary double elimination game

This should happen

They've catered to the fans and TV, which you could argue is more important, but the game suffers.

The national championship series should be rested staff vs. rested staff. Why on earth would you want to decide it any other way?

Why not push the Championship Series to the next weekend and go Friday, Saturday, and Sunday? I think that’s the best way to do it

Can you imagine the bitching in the rant if people had to spend a fortune to go back and forth to Omaha?

More accurate initial seeding but no re-seeding.

I dont disagree at all. I'm fully with you. But I stand by my point. If you like good baseball and want to see a team put its best effort forward, then you'd wantto see the best pitchers pitch.

Another way to do things, is to push the championship series out to the following weekend. Then the particpants can play things like a normal three game series they've been playing all season.

I just hate seeing ANY team have to trot out a pitcher that hasnt pitched much in a championship game.

You must hate the MLB playoffs then. In a 7 game series they get to use their aces and top long relievers 3 times max. Those other 4 games are unwatchable, right?

I dont watch MLB. I feel like you're trying to make an argument where none exists. It's just my opinion, baw. Chill out. I'm okay with things staying just as they are. But I'd change a couple things if I were king.

No kidding. You would have thought this thing had already been played. Are you all that scared of losing?

They don't do this for a lot of sports. In MLB they don't start the next series in the playoffs only when both teams have their aces back. It's part of the need to win series faster if you can.

If we had won all our games we wouldn't be complaining. Someone is always looking for an excuse.

They need to allow time for both teams to be at full rest. Its stupid that either team has to be penalized due to compressed schedule. Every other major college sport has a good week to 10 days between the last game and the championship game(s), why is baseball forced to shoehorn all these games into a compressed time frame? Its not how the rest of the season plays and it does not give an accurate reflection of who the real champ is. I know we will probably see Skenes for a minute or two tonight but its BS that he is basically restricted from starting in the championship series because they make all these games back to back.

If the point of the argument is to have the two remaining teams go toe to toe on the same amount of rest and with the same pitching resources then I agree with that, maybe even way until the next weekend and have it like a regular series with aces going against aces etc. but hey, we wouldn’t be in this spot if we beat wake in game 1 perhaps, part of the reward for winning out.

Reseeded

1. WF
8. ORU

4. Virginia
5. Stanford

2. UF
7. Tenn

3. LSU
6. TCU

Really very similar brackets to what we saw. Wake probably advances through theirs and it is LSU/Florida in the 1-0 game.

The issue at hand is the brackets starting on different days. 4 games should be played on Friday and Saturday then everyone would be on the same level. IF this requires building a second ballpark so be it, but that is where the disadvantage comes to the team with the Saturday start compared to starting Friday.

The series is fine. It’s a huge punishment to lose a game, simple as that.

I wouldn’t mind an extra day of rest before the final series though, so both teams are at their best. Although again, it’s further reward for staying in the winners bracket.

I forgot—teams don’t all start the tournament play on the same day. So that’s an inherent benefit aside from staying in the winner bracket. So yes there should be an extra rest day.

Dunno bout re-seeding but there needs to be a 2-3 day break before final series. Teams starting tourney 1 day earlier and playing every day nonstop hurts the final series product. I assure you Skenes vs WF P1 was most watched game of ws! The final series should have every opportunity to see 1s vs 1s on mount to settle it all. For ratings and for every other reason.

I don't think Omaha should be reseeded but I do think the Supers need to be reseeded after the Regionals. Tennessee and Southern Miss were both 2 seeds in the regionals they played in, but USM got to host a super against them over some teams that hosted regionals despite not hosting a regional themselves.

Going by the 16 regional winners, these should have been the 8 Super Regional hosts:

1. Wake
2. Florida
3. LSU
4. Virginia
5. Stanford
6. Kentucky
7. Indiana St (with their host issues could travel to their 10 seed opponent)
8. South Carolina

9. Bama (goes to SCar)
10-15. These are all 2 seeds that won a regional, go by RPI to find the order
16. Oral Roberts (goes to Wake)

Then I don't think they need to be reseeded for Omaha, it's a neutral site where nobody hosts so I don't think it's as important. Whoever gets here did it after a reseed for the Supers so I don't think any lower seeded teams that happen to get here will have done so by having an easy path by lucking into an easy Super Regional opponent.
